Perhaps some of you guys should wait until Napier actually hires his staff before you have his entire UF career mapped out. Hell, maybe even wait until he sets foot in the state of Florida before you crucify him.

Very trueIve literally never heard it from anyone but a clown.
it followed about the time that SOS called them Semis.
The OC hire will go a loooong way to me having real hope for the future of Florida football.
OC,OL coach, and DC..... in that order.... he is a high ceiling/low floor hire... I hope he is great, and I'm rooting for him...
Here's what's going to happen, and we all freaking know it. People like you will be at the forefront of it.I do find it funny though that Ox was crucifying me for thinking that I was crucifying Napier.
In my opinion, we made the best hire of any team looking for a new HC. Riley and Kelly are looking like absolute cowards with how they left their programs and seemingly burned major bridges in the process. Any recruit would be foolish to trust either of those guys. A lot can be said about the type of character of a coach that seemingly has questionable loyalty to a program (Riley) or will lie to recruits and players about their intentions (Kelly). By all accounts, Napier handled his exit very professionally and players and coaches seem to respect and love the guy. He clearly has more integrity than either of those two clowns. Nothing is a sure thing in College Football, but I have a great feeling about him. I think he will put together a tremendous staff and surprise a lot of naysayers.

Napier is going to hire a OC that doesn't throw 50 times a game and rack up Texas-Tech-style pinball-machine passing numbers, and people are going to start freaking out.
"He's Muschamp! Eek! Ack!"
They'll pick apart the new OC, posting up box scores and old YouTube videos that show he had a 3-and-out in the 2nd quarter of a game six years ago. Hand-wringing and pearl-clutching will commence. Then they'll dig up the stats, that he was only ranked #32 in passing in 2017 when we should only ever settle for #1. Some tard will show (with sophisticated charts, graphs, and videos) that the OC's team only threw for 211 yards against X when team Y threw for 242 against the same opponent, making this an outrageous hire. Then more people will pile on, saying they are "saddened" that it's happened yet again. Several will claim they won't watch and are done with UF football forever, like we give a sh!it if they watch or not.
It will be an orgy of embarrassment for all involved.
Can't wait.
“Kelly is 3-8 against opponents ranked in the top 10 at Notre Dame. Five of the eight losses were by 14 points or more, including that 28-point loss to Alabama in 2012 . . .
Notre Dame is 3-20 against top-five teams, including a 0-5 record against those teams in bowl matchups.”
Can Brian Kelly reverse Notre Dame’s awful record against top-ranked teams?

Yes, know Billy personally. I have it spoken to him since his dads funeral though; it’s not like we go out to eat lunch every week. But I know him well enough to say a few things.
Class, character, focus and level headed are all apropos adjectives to describe him and his family; dad, mom, brothers and sister. To be honest, I can’t say enough good about him. My son played for his dad at Murray county where we were very successful; 43-9 the four years my son started for Bill...and I could not have asked for a better HS football coach-role model for my son . And Billy is just like his dad. Billy will elevate the Florida program because he will give them all the intangibles they have never had before: class and character. There is no doubt in my mind that he will change Florida’s present state but he will have to rewire the culture completely. If Billy chose Florida, then he did so with the knowledge and confidence of his ability to change things and he did so with great forethought and prayer. If the fan base and boosters stay out of his way and actually support him, he can have them at 9 or 10 wins in a couple of years. He can recruit the whole of the southland effectively and the man can coach calmly and focused. I believe he can and will make them competitive, but I also believe UGA is still years ahead of the Florida program at current and it will take him several recruiting classes to be competitive vs UGA. But the rest of the East needs to beware.

Outside of what I described, no one is going to like the hire. There's now a permanent contingent that thinks passing numbers are all that matters and the only way you win football games. As long as it's solid, I will feel more comfortable.
Detroit, I think even YOU could coach the Gators to at least 8 wins next season. We have a QB, and that's 75% of the way there, if not more.
