Ugly? I think that thing is very cool. Looks a bit like a bmw 2002 to me.
How long did you keep that Mustang after the gas prices took off?
That's crazy that a car of that ilk, low miles and in relatively good shape, would be left to rot. Somebody's going to make a killing.@78 Moldy Mercedes-Benz stored for six decades could be worth $1.5 million
and for the life of me I cannot understand why this got zero likes from you insects
Rumor has it GM and Ford are worried about the torque specs on the Tremac DCT 7 speed tranny. Tremac specs say it only rated for 650ftlbs of torque unless they redesigned it. Both the Vette and GT500 share this transmission for 2020.Watching the Vette vid and the narrator is crying about GM locking the ECU and then wonders why....Ask Ford, GM and to a lesser extent Chrysler how much the diesel warranties cost them. Ford all but lost their ass on the 6.0 and ended up producing a guide on what to look for on the piston top to determine if it was tuned or not.
Ever see an ad for a "Bulletproofed" diesel? DPF, DEF and EGR systems are either removed or disabled and head bolts usually replaced with studs.
If the EPA decides to really crack down on these mods expect to see owners getting LARGE fines, Up to and possibly including parking the trucks, and shops hit so hard with fines and possible club fed time that some shops will be forced to close.
Some guys even bragged online that they holed a piston (or more) with tuning and the dealer warranted it.
Another death knell for tuners is the emissions that the manufacturers have to warranty for a set number of miles/time.... Thank VW for that one
Of course another issue, Perhaps even the main issue, Is the dreaded "L" word, That being liability. By locking the ECU GM (or any other manufacturer) can stand up in court and state that their car is only allowed to do "X" and the owner had the ECU modified so car can now do "Y". Yes any ECU can eventually be unlocked... It's man made and another person will figure it out.
Right now some are changing sensor inputs/outputs to "fool" the ECM without actually touching the programming.
Having worked on Vettes since 82 they've never really been a car I wanted..... But the latest ZR1 version sure does make it twitch a little.
As long as making that much doesn't obliterate everything else in the driveline. I just heard from a Mustang forum member that the replacement cost of that tranny is over $20,000Isn't the ability to bolt on a few things and make a thousand horses a great thing? I remember when the Crossfire 350 was the pinnacle of Corvette power... And it made maybe 235 hp
