One of my first thoughts as well. I’m not saying you rule it out. But it should definitely be very unique circumstances. I said this even during the cycle that the risks just aren’t outweighing the reward any longer.
Even if they pan out on the field, which by all accounts he was, there’s just such a flight risk because of distance. We have to stop thinking this generation is the same as before. They’re not. And full disclosure, I’m not sure I was ready at 17-18 to leave all my family and friends behind and spend 4 years on the other side of the country. Everything from competition to injury to discipline is that much tougher. It’s a lot to ask and there’s literally no way to know how they’ll react until it’s too late.
If you’re Iowa or Washington or Minnesota, you have to roll those dice because of location. When you’re in the SE, and in Florida no less, you don’t. Hoping it’s all smoke and CS stays.
