NO, NO, NO, the point is NOT Mullen is as or will ever be as good as Spurrier at UF. However, some here characterize Mullen has having a mediocre record at MSU, which is clearly a second tier team. The point is the same thing happened to Spurrier with lesser talent.

Nice try but by every measure other than bowl win percentage SOS was better than Mullen. SOS had a winning record in SEC games, a better overall winning percentage, beat more ranked teams, and finished as divisional champions playing in an SECCG in 2010 after stomping us at home, the first time USCe had ever won at the Swamp. He also beat number 1 Alabama that year and had a 10 win season in 2011. He went 6-4 vs Clemson, a team that owned USC and who USC hadn't beaten in 5 years before he got there.

Beat Bama (when they were number 1 no less): SOS yes, Mullen no
Winning SEC Record: SOS yes, Mullen No
Finished a season Ranked in the Top 10: SOS yes, Mullen No
