Position assignments below are assumed based on previous roles and experience.
Head coach: Dan Mullen
Co-offensive coordinator/passing game/WR: Billy Gonzales
Co-offensive coordinator/running game/OL or TE: John Hevesy^
Defensive coordinator/LB: Todd Grantham*
Special teams coordinator: Greg Knox
Quarterbacks coach: TBD (Brian Johnson)
Running backs coach: Ja’Juan Seider~ or Greg Knox
Offensive line coach: Brad Davis^ or John Hevesy
Tight ends coach: TBD or John Hevesy (Tim Brewster?)
Defensive line coach: Chris Rumph (He gone)
Linebackers coach: Tim Skipper* or Todd Grantham
Secondary coach: TBD (Pat Surtain?)

^ Hevesy coached offensive line at MSU but previously coached tight ends in his prior tenure at Florida. Mullen will have to decide whether he wants to keep Davis or hire a tight ends coach.
* Grantham coached linebackers at MSU. Mullen will have to decide whether he wants to keep Grantham coaching the position, keep Skipper (either at linebackers or secondary) or hire a new coach.
~ Knox coached running backs at MSU, but Seider is one of UF’s best current assistants. He is a former quarterback but has only coached running backs in his professional career.

This is a fluid situation and I appreciate you and others for tracking developments so thoroughly. Hope they can nail those pieces down, especially on defense, quickly. Looks like offense should be set if they keep Davis & Seider.

Wouldn't it be great if Mullen could get an NFL guy to bring back Great Gator Defense!! To be a Pied Piper for incoming defensive recruits.

The Huggins kid we're after said today that we're going to have a DB coach in place by Christmas. Another recruit said our DL coach will be coming in from the NFL. Looks like we already have those spots locked up but We'll have to wait and see what happens.

I agree I think it would be a homerun hire as well. He is well know down south and should be able to recruit very well. Hopefully he brings his son and Campbell with him. Defense would be looking stout at hat point.

Marianna mentioned that one recruit said our DL coach is coming from the NFL but Swonkey swore to me that Mullen was getting our DL coach from SNL.

Dunno, but I guess that makes Knox a more realistic option for TEs/ST.

Any idea who the NFL guy could be? Having a hard time figuring out who Mullen (presumably) has ties to that coaches NFL DL. Bryant Young from the Falcons has UF ties but not with Mullen.
