So you are saying college football would be great if we had no chance of ever winning a championship?
He’s living in fantasyland if he thinks these schools are ever going to do anything to risk the huge television contracts they allowed to take over their façade of amateurism.

How to Make College Football Great Again: 1. No scholarships or financial aid for playing sports. 2. No special admission standards for athletes. 3. No recruiting of athletes off campus or outside of normal class schedules. 4. No athlete may participate unless maintaining a 2.5/4 average taking at least 12 hours a term. 5. Teams must reflect the racial makeup of the campus within +- 3 sigma. 6. Academic institutions may license rights to team names, facilities use, and such to professional development league teams not consisting of "student-athletes." All license fees would be contributed to the general scholarship fund.

And don't forget whites only!

At UF, we’d have to be about 20% Asian.

Same chance as everyone else. And it would be college football, not NFL d-league.
Not every school has the same admission standards, demographics or academic rigor, so not the same chance as everyone else.

Dabo: College football needs 'complete blowup'

Swinney, entering his 14th season as Clemson's head coach, said it's a good thing that players can cash in on their name, image and likeness once they get to school and have a "platform," but said it's nonsensical to think that the current NIL rules weren't going to be used as a recruiting incentive.

"There's no rules, no guidance, no nothing," Swinney said. "It's out of control. It's not sustainable. It's an absolute mess and a train wreck, and the kids are going to be the ones who suffer in the end. There are going to be a lot of kids that end up with no degrees and make decisions based on the wrong things."

Discuss.
Sounds like the soft bigotry of low expectations to me.

There's gonna be two "leagues". Even before NIL the SEC was going to tell the NCAA to f off and run their own "league". Now even more so there are going to be schools that want to play by the NIL rules and those who don't.

I actually agree with most of this since we have reached point where we should stop pretending that these kids are students.
Unfortunately much of this is contrary to the political culture of the university system. Quotas are a one way street in America.

Major changes coming, it should be interesting to see how it shakes out.
