Khaki pants' contract has a ton of incentives. This makes a lot of sense.

$1 million each for winning the Big Ten championship game and College Football Playoff.

$500,000 bonus if Michigan wins the Big Ten East division (which he has never done)

$200,000 bonus if Michigan reaches a New Year’s Six bowl

$150,000 if Michigan continues to meet an undisclosed APR score

$75,000 if he’s named a national coach of the year

$50,000 if he’s named Big Ten coach of the year

Im not real clear why we treat "New Years Six" as an accomplishment now.

If you get to the IMPORTANT game in Miami, Tempe, New Orleans, the playoff game, sure. Good deal.

But the less bowl in New Orleans, the Sugar Bowl, is now the equivalent of the Capital One Bowl for the #2 team in SEC. We mocked Payton Manning and Fulmer for being #2 every year and yet we havent achieved it ourselves in over a decade.

The other "New Years Six" bowls are for #3 or #4 in SEC, at best.

How could this be better than being "National Coach of the Year"? Or Conference coach of the year?

Seems crazy.

How about if he gets beat by 40 in a bowl game he has to hang by his super important thumbs off the edge of the O'dome for 1/2 hour in his underwear while being sprayed with a fire hose?

200k seems crazy for sure. I'm sure that was was all his agent. On the other hand those bowl games pay out a lot, so I can see why it's 200k. That national or conference coach of the year incentive is pretty low...I guess that tells you how confident they are khaki pants would be named one of those.
