Does anyone remember this hit?

A recent post of Spikes hitting Moreno triggered something. I vaguely recall a massive hit across the middle in the LSU /FLA game in 1988. From the East stands it looked like an LSU receiver got hit so hard his facemask was broken. I didn't dream that did I? Or was it a different game? Anyone?

I think that was in the early '90s and the receiver was Todd Kinchens

I haven't clicked any links yet, but if I get rick-rolled, someone's getting banned. :ox:

1994 Sugar Bowl :) Brent Musburger still sounds exactly the same.

To get back to the OP, I really think it was Fee Bartley knocking out Todd Kinchen in the Swamp. Had to be 1990.

Exactly correct. I was on row 70 in section 5 right above the hit and could hear hit. Sickening, but sweeter after Kinchen managed to get up ten minutes later.

Yeah I was there too. Section 12 or 14. First time I ever felt bad for someone getting crushed like that. I was in high school at the time and I remember everyone was tucking the front of their jerseys under their shoulder pads, stomach exposed, just like Fee.

BTW, I played a little D2 ball at Wingate. When were you at GW?
