This is especially directed at our more skeptical fan base, but anybody can participate

I'm issuing you a challenge:

You MUST name 5 things or more you're excited or optimistic about moving forward given the state of the football program. First person to say something negative in this thread, is banned for two weeks. How's that sound, Ox? :bananawave:

Let's see how long we can keep this going...

Humor me! The off-season is almost over!

1- We retained Nord. Our special teams will be very, very special!!
2- Our OC is among the greatest offensive minds in the country, all he needs is a QB and an OL and it's Go-Time!!
3- We have 5 SEC home games this year.
4- LDR is the best Tweeter in all of college football.
5- Our current recruiting ranking has nowhere to go but up!!

(as a bonus: we still have Nord out on the recruiting trail!!)

I would count myself as skeptical not pessimistic or a negative nellie. Still here goes:

1. I think Perine is potentially very very good, so I want to see him with a season and a spring under his belt.

2. I am excited to see if the returning OL and the new OL coach lead to a big jump at that position.

3. I am excited to see if UF's new players on defense who looked good in part time play last year look as good in full time play this year.

4. I am excited to see Calloway in his money year after him marking time a year ago.

5. I am excited to see Pineiro kicking off into the endzone and making long FGs again.

1. I'm excited about my vacation coming up in August
2. I'll get to spend time with family during said vacation
3. Vacation means I don't have to work
4. I finally used my smoker for the 1st time and make some really good ribs yesterday with a homemade dry rub that I created
5. I'm excited to used said smoker doing football season

As a bonus I'm excited to see what the future holds in Gator athletics

Also to see if our boy Eddie breaks a record with his leg

1. Scarlett is going to have a huge year behind this OL.
2. Callaway/Cleveland are going to be a dynamic duo.
3. The young LB core is full of savages who will surprise us.
4. Eddie is going to continue to be a weapon.
5. Our DBs are still great

Bonus: Lemmons and Davis both have a ton of speed and can add a dynamic aspect to this offense.

Does snarkasm count as a negative? If so, there's already some grounds for that 2 week vacation.

5. A comet will eventually hit the planet and bring us all sweet relief.

In 1989, no weatherman commented, no NASA space agency news but: An asteroid big enough to destroy all Life on whatever continent it hit crossed Earth's orbit-path 6 hours after Earth passed that spot. This asteroid had been hurtling through our Universe for 5 million years and came within 6 hours of hitting this target! That's an accuracy trajectory of a smart-missle.

1) I look forward to Gator enthusiasm returning.
2) I look forward to Franks becoming a top SEC QB.
3) look forward to our recieving-crew tearing up the opposing DBs.
4) look forward to O & B sideline & field-players' jubilation on TV (visible to recruits)
5) look forward to lots of breakaway runs by Scarlett, Perrine, Thompson, Toney, Franks and our mop-ups
6) look forward to having a bunch more Gator highlights to watch & re-watch.

1. Decent offensive line play in both the run game and passing.
2. Our running backs have all the skills to take advantage of number one.
3. A Tight End that can both block and beat line backers in coverage.
4. A defense that won't lose near as much dominance as many expect.
5. A QB who has the physical talents and good decision making.

I will be happy with facility upgrades and hopefully beating LSU again.

1. Most of the OLine got some good experience last year.
2. Scarlett and Perine are back.
3. Franks/Toney/Zaire/Trask/Allen- One of them has to be better than LDR/AA, right?
4. DB group should be good again. Maybe not as good, but should still be very good.
5. Eddy Pineiro
6. New OLine and RB coaches.
7. Favorable home schedule.
8. It's UF Football, duh!

I don't know about excited or optimistic but how about hopeful.
1) I'm hopeful that the Oline is significantly better.
2) I'm hopeful that if the Oline is better that will open up the run game
3) I'm hopeful that if the Oline is better and the run game is better then that opens up the passing game
4) I'm hopeful that if the Oline is better and the run game is better and the passing game is better then the QB is better
5) I'm hopeful that given all of the above Nuss learns to call plays.
