This thread was a nice trip down memory lane. I remember Wynn trucking a vol in 06 to get that extra yard on 3rd to move the sticks. Putting a hard fought comeback in Neyland on ice.
Leak took a knee on the next snap. Rainey's stutter step kick return up 6 six touchdowns back in jax 08. Fred Taylor in 97 at home against the noles. Least favorite memory probably comes from 98' when Jackson coughed it up on the UT 1 yard line.

My first day on campus and here comes James Jones riding a coaster style bike, his knees sticking out sideways, and he's wearing a French Foreign Legion style hat to keep the sun off his neck.

That Saturday I saw him make that mighty behind the back touchdown pass versus Miami and he became my favorite Gator of all time. Still is.

Emmitt Smiths 96 yard touchdown run against MIssissippi State in 1987 (correct me if the year is wrong).
Neal Anderson's 160 yard day against Tennesse in '85(?) where both offenses looked awkard. Bell was held to under 150 yards passing.
Taylor in 1997 against the #1 Ranked Seminoles, his game was awesome that night

Terry Jackson's Touchdown in the National Title game (already mentioned above).

Fason final touchdown on the first night of Bobby Bowden Field with 5 minutes left to put us up by 10.

Boy do I remember John L. Williams. I remember him vividly from the high school regional championship Palatka vs us (Buchholz). He nearly ran me over in the end zone as we were getting ready for the half time show. He was a beast.

"The Catch" Does anyone have a picture of "the catch"?
I can't find it anywhere. That's hard to believe.

Did you just admit to being in the band?

Yes sir. :backout:

Being in the band had many perks people outside the band wouldn't understand. Oh the memories of the bus rides home from away games with the bus windows completely fogged up and blankets to hide the nefarious deeds going on underneath!

I was at that game. Someone posted a picture from a newspaper clipping a couple of years ago at that board that went belly-up.

I don't have any stats in front of me but my favorite "era" was the Lorenzo Hampton, Neil Anderson and John L Williams three headed attack. Williams gliding out to the flat for the catch and rumble was sweet too. With all due respect to Emmitt, Fred, James, etc.

I remember Jimmy Dubose and how he was always running around with half his shirt missing. Those tear-away jerseys were horrible.

My son and I got to go to the '97 game against the Semis. Fred Taylor got off to a rocky start with two fumbles...then absolutely destroyed them the rest of the way. That is the loudest crowd I have ever heard in my life...the place was shaking.
