Looks good - one problem.
Critics hate most sports films that smack of any "faith" based themes*.
Expect it to get trashed

(Except maybe Chariots of Fire... or Talladega Nights)

I had completely forgotten the story of this guy.

Got killed in a car accident 11 days after being drafted in the 3rd round.

Did you watch the trailer? It's obviously no secret.

Ah... didn't catch that part at around 1:15 - I thought it may have been a domestic disturbance call or something.
I re-watched it... that is very sad.

This is so true. Now if he had overcome something or someone that was faith based, they would love it

Didn't Blind Side have a faith based theme? I've never seen it, so I have no idea, but I'm assuming a football movie based in Mississippi has got to have some type of faith based stuff in it.

Regardless, critics don't hate faith based movies because they're faith based anymore than NFL coaches didn't want Tebow because he's faith based. They hate bad movies.

Didn't Blind Side have a faith based theme?

No...just a Kentucky Fried Chicken theme (the family who adopted Oher owned a chain of KFCs).
It was actually a good movie - my "wife" between midnight and 6am won an Oscar for her role in that.

But overall - yes, some of those faith based films can be a little hokey and beat you over the head.
Thus the reference to at least one I can think of that they liked (Chariots of Fire).

For a really small budget, based on a true story type of movie... this one below wasn't that bad (IMO).
You can see the difference in the Critics opinions (13%) and the 88,000 viewers who saw the movie (85%).
So it was successful in reaching and satisfying its target audience.

Maybe not the norm, but as a rule, it could be that Hollywood at large hasn't yet latched on to this sub-genre with the budgets and talent to warrant the high ratings from the critics. It almost seems like most faith based films in general don't attract the 'name brand' stars and directors.

alright...I'll give you that one
Can't believe you actually saw that one.

I assume you caught the cameo from richt?
I believe I watched it when I was in high school, so it's been a long time. Don't remember the choir boy mutt.

Edit: Nevermind, it came out in 2006, so I was in college. I think my mom might have rented it when I was on break or something. She's a devout Catholic, the kook.
