Have you considered John Grass (pronounced Grahss) from Jacksonville State to replace Mac?

There are really no big names out there available, and no proven up and comers, but Grass has had Jax St. playing lights out in the FCS.

Their only regular season losses have been to FBS opponents, while almost knocking off Auburn in '15. Their only other loss that year was in the FCS Nat'l Champ game. They've made the playoffs every year he's been there, even the one year he was OC. He's also had major success at the HS levels in Alabama.

They are currently #57 in Total Offense, and #6 in Total Defense. Unlike UF, their offense is fun to watch.

If you're going to go after an "up and comer", why not go after someone who's at least proven it in college football, even if it was at a FCS school.

Might as well go after the James Madison or North Dakota State coach too. Both undefeated in the FCS. NDS has won 5 of the last 7 FCS National Championships

sure, because going after a guy from the NW is a great idea, should fit right in. Haven't we been dealt enough punishment by Mac not to try that again?
I'm not sure going after a guy from the FCS is any better, old hoss.

Thank god most of you aren't our athletic director. Might as well close the whole damn program if we hire some of these options.

Zero excuse to not hire someone proven in: recruiting, winning, winning at a high level, program building to high levels, great offenses and defense. Everything below that is garbage

I'd rather bring Charlie Strong back as HC if he would even consider it

@Slevin - go ahead, name 'em.

20:1 none of your wish list would take the job

Florida, no matter how chicken little you become, is a top 3 job in the country. It's a plug and play coaching position if the right person gets it. Muschamp and Mac are mediocre at best coaches with little to no elite killer instinct in them.

Offer elite money, and dont be a prick about it like foley was with dicking around Spurrier, and only interviewing Muschamp and Mac, and go after program builders, future elite coaches:

Fuente, Frost, Strong (with his Florida connections to the HS here he'd recruit insanely), hell even gundy. Give them 4 + mil and give them whatever they want that they feel they need to succeed.

Anything else is inexcusable and Stricklin didn't try hard enough.

There's only three or four jobs in the county in which you get to have homefield advantage on enough talent to win a championship. There are a couple more on the cusp (Louisiana, Alabama, Jawja).
