I don’t care what anybody believes about our schedule this year. I think that’s overly optimistic. Meyer was handed a significantly better roster overall (and infinitely better QB) and won 9 games his first year, correct?

I don’t know how to define a successful season other than an extremely vague “whatever signs of improvement are necessary to attract Top 3 recruiting classes again.”

Wow?

1. I am pessimistic about Mullen but the schedule is the schedule as reflected by the prediction this thread is about.

2. Meyer inherited a terrible QB for his (and this) system. Franks is a much better dual threat prospect.

3. I guess you can call success "whatever signs ... are necessary to recruit top 3 classes again" IF you think coaching does not matter or you are merely interested in bragging to your friends in February. I would look for signs of good coaching and the first place that should show up is on the offensive side of the ball.

We are not as good as his prediction but we are better than many here believe. We are going to have a good season. Our running game is going to be very strong. Scarlett, Davis and Perrine all return and are looking real good. Lemons and Pierce are impressing. Toney will be improved. These guys are really competing for touches. They will roll up yardage. Our receiving corps is as good as any we’ve had in many years. Personally I can’t wait for kickoff.
it's almost as if oline and qb don't even matter...

These takes are absolutely astonishing. This is beyond pumping. Groundhog Day Episode 9 coming up. The output will not change until the last eight seasons inputs change.

I see the positive direction they’re starting to go however I’m cautiously optimistic yet conflicted about the paper tiger we’re being set up w by the media...I hope we’re 15-0 but I’m looking at 8-10 wins with some improved offense...not too much to ask for

Franks is not a much better QB in any way, shape or form than Leak was. You should punch yourself in the balls for that comment.

Leak was an accurate passer and had pocket presence...Franks well...he’s a skittish kid with a long ball and little else in the arsenal

Were you actually around in 2005? When Dan Mullen took the SEC #1 offense and made them middle of the pack

Bad post. No context, even less perspective. The wheel was reinvented in 2005. That's an automatic step back.

No idea what that means, so I'm giving you a like, just in case.

He’s going to get replaced obviously or develop like Grier was starting to

And besides I think we could win 10 games on this schedule with any of our QBs starting this is such an easy schedule to ease a QB into

This.

All of the talent we have at running back and wide receiver will be wasted if the OL can’t control the line of scrimmage and the QB can’t read defenses or get rid of the ball expeditiously and accurately.

Those that don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Like Marino all those years without a running back. No Super Bowls.

Dude, I’ll take Leak over Franks no matter who the coach is what offense is run. Every. Single. Time.

Bragging in Feb??? I’m talking about getting better talent to compete against the big boys ASAP!!!

Put the bottle down, bruh.

OL and QB matter....which is why we will go 9-3 regular season with a nice bowl win for 10. If we had top OL and QB we would win the SEC.

I pass no judgement on those preparing for a miserable season. I’m all set to thoroughly enjoy every trip. Literally chomping at the bit to get started.

"Were you actually around in 2005? When Dan Mullen took the SEC #1 offense and made them middle of the pack.
He doesn't have a clue what to do other than find a big QB and run him up the middle." Quote from Donkers there. So should we have kept the Zooker offense then? Leak ran up the middle all year in 05? Tebow and Leak ran up the middle all year in 06? They didn't attempt a single pass in 05 or 06, 07, or 08? Seems like that Mullen offense with a QB supposedly running up the middle every play did pretty good from 05-08 huh? Alot of great wins and NCs and SECs mixed in there as far as I can remember. Gatorbaiter!
