I've been seeing comments from players such as Takeo Spikes and other talking about how Meyer may "lose the confidence of the team" if his signing of Tebow is seen as rank nepotism towards a player who they don't think belongs in the league.
I don't suppose there's any chance, is there, that Corch Meyers is playing some kind of reverse-psychology long-game to earn the team's confidence by, on the one hand, showing his loyalty to a valued former player by giving him a shot, but then on the other hand, ultimately showing his greater loyalty to his current team by choosing a younger player and cutting Tebow in the end?
It would be quite ironic if UM is casting Tebow in the role of the beloved "son" he sacrifices to show his love for the others.
