I read somewhere that the contract reads that if Mike Tyson knocks Paul out early he gets very little money. The longer it goes on the more money he makes. And he makes the most money if it goes to decision.
While I wouldn't doubt that, it really sucks if true. But I haven't heard that anywhere. I have heard that they will be required to wear heavy (ie padded) gloves and I think both can wear head gear while Mike has said he won't and Jake has chosen to do so.

This is now an officially sanctioned fight. This means that the results of the fight will count towards both fighter's overall record.

The two-minute rounds are expected to favor Tyson because of potential issues for the boxer who will be 58 at the time of the fight. The 14-ounce gloves are expected to favor Paul because the heavier gloves could soften the impact of Tyson's punches.

While I agree that the two-minute rounds should favor Tyson, they may also be a benefit for Paul as he will likely get a quicker reprieve from the relentless pounding he will likely get.

The "soften"ing of the impact of Tyson's punches from the 14 ounce gloves as opposed to the normal 10 ounce gloves is a pathetic attempt at a joke. Tyson's power will overcome any benefit of the padded gloves.

It’s a sanctioned fight now, isn’t it? So no longer an exhibition. Counts against their records I think.

So there can’t be any funny business.

That would be awesome!
But a sanctioned fight doesn't stop any "funny business".
Still, Mike kills him within 3 rounds. If it goes further, Jake's chances grow.

It is sanctioned but with eight-2 minute rounds. I think Iron Mike can keep up that long.

Paul gets knocked out by the 2nd round.
Book it.
If Tyson wasnt almost 60 years old I would agree. I do think he wins in the end but there are many years difference in age and stamina. I guess we shall see. I know Mike has a deadly uppercut that many fighters will remember the rest of their lives. I would love to see a knock out.

If Paul fights, he gets knocked out.

If Paul runs around and avoids contact, he'll go longer.

Jake Paul made a VERY bold statement about this fight. If I were a gambler, I would wager big $$ that the one being carried out with a toe-tag would be JP. Iron Mike don't play...
If Mike were 10 years younger I wouldnt even have a second thought that he knocks out JP. When a 58 year old man re enters the ring there is reason to doubt. I think Mike can and will win but the age difference could be an issue. I hope that uppercut sends Paul to the canvas in short order.

I can agree with this. But the big thing for me is this: MT isn't, and never has been a typical heavy-weight fighter. He fights with a toughness that has never been replicated with just a very few fights being exceptions. Even in those fights, his toughness wasn't replicated because he didn't fight with that toughness. If the 19 y/o MT were to step into the ring against JP, I believe he literally would kill JP. While his age IS a detriment, I think his tenacity and and aggressiveness will be too much for JP to overcome unless he gets a lucky shot that stops MT.

Well I see you are 60 years old. I am 66 this month. I can still defend myself physically but can I still take a powerful jaw punch like I used to? Probably not and thats the reason I depend on Colt to help me. Its different with MT because he has always been in tip top shape and he knows how to control the ring but is his jaw still as iron as it has always been? I guess we shall see. Lets hope so. I would absolutely love to see JP laying on the canvas with his arms stiff.

I hope that he whips Jake Paul. But I think it’s gonna be much harder than people think. Mainly because of his age. I think there is also a weight cap on this. He’s not coming in at 219 pounds.

well, maybe I’m wrong. It looks like Jake Paul is packing on weight to fight Tyson. He’s already weighing in at 230 pounds.

I expect Paul to run around and jab jab run...clinch. Tire Tyson out and then try to take him out. It's a question of if Tyson can catch him early on. The longer it goes, the worse it will get for Iron Mike.
