This is comical:
No workouts today? Florida P Johnny Townsend asks for excuse note from AD

An athletic director’s note to get a break from workouts? It looks as if Florida punter Johnny Townsend has stumbled upon an idea that a lot of players might like.
UF athletic director Scott Stricklin tweeted a humorous note excusing fans from work Tuesday, after the softball team’s marathon 17-inning loss to Oklahoma in the Women’s College World Series final on Monday night/Tuesday morning.
Don’t want anyone getting in trouble for staying up late watching @GatorsSB. You’re welcome!#GoGators #WeChomp pic.twitter.com/yFXSfue71Y

That prompted a response from Townsend, who’s already shown more than once that he has an offbeat side on social media.
Can you write me one of these to get out of 6am workouts tomorrow? Thanks!

The softball contest didn’t end until about 12:35 a.m. Eastern time, leaving barely five hours to rest before workouts.
