If this confirmed? Because they are denying they have even offered.

Can't tell if that would be a step up or step back?

Does Valdosta St. allow schollies?

Yes VSU offers scholarships. VSU thus is a step up for Kerwin. The expressed VSU
CFB program philosophy is capitalistic ... stating the more popular our CFB program
becomes the better will grow VSU's $ support. Right now a VSU schollie is worth about
$2,460/athlete.... So Kerwin can with a winning program gain as a CFB power. VSU is a
division-II program. I think VSU in the past has won a Division-II National Championship.

Definitely a step up. Probably a good move for him, too. I think he'll get more exposure at Valdosta State. If he does well, and I think he will, the next step for him from there could be something like a HC gig at a MAC or AAC type program, or an OC gig at a Power 5 school. Good for him. I hope it works out.

Valdosta State is a quality D-2 program, two national titles in the past nine years. Their HC that just left after 9 years in charge (to take on OC job at Georgia Souithern), finished with a record of 79-27, their all-time winningest coach. Kerwin has big shoes to fill, but apparently the resources to do it with.

VSU has been a powerhouse in Division II for as long as I can remember. Well, since the days of Hal Mumme anyway.

They get all the second tier talent from Colquitt, Tift, Valdosta HS, Lowndes, and several other high schools in that area of GA and North FL.

Reidel Anthony was an assistant coach there a few years back.

In an odd sort of connection...Felipe Franks' head coach at Wakulla HS played QB at VSU in the late 80s-early 90s
