Miss State should jump on him asap! He'd be a GREAT hire for that program. That is actually a pretty good list (in the link):

Mississippi State coach candidates: As Dan Mullen exits, here are potential replacements

Here are potential candidates to replace Mullen at Mississippi State.

Lane Kiffin, Florida Atlantic
Admit it, seeing Lane Kiffin back in the SEC would be fun on so many levels. He offers experience in the conference after serving as Tennessee’s coach during the 2009 season and working as Alabama’s offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016.

Kiffin has done a fantastic job in his first season at Florida Atlantic, leading the Owls to a 9-3 record and eight consecutive victories after a win against Charlotte on Saturday. He comes with a great offensive pedigree, and seeing Kiffin work with Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald would be intriguing.

Mike Norvell, Memphis
Mike Norvell’s name has gained steam this offseason as a possibility for major jobs. He’s a quality offensive mind, having spent time as Arizona State’s offensive coordinator from 2012 to 2015 before becoming Memphis’ coach prior to the 2016 campaign. He has produced strong work at Memphis, posting an 18-6 overall mark.

Norvell’s profile has risen this season, with Memphis holding a 10-1 record. He would make sense at Mississippi State, given his offensive background.

Chad Morris, SMU
Chad Morris is another offensive mind with a strong reputation who has been included in coaching carousel talk lately. His record at SMU isn’t overwhelming — he’s 14-22 in three seasons — but it’s possible to see him having success with the tools Mississippi State has at its disposal.

Other candidates such as Kiffin or Norvell would be hotter names, but Morris would be an offensive guy who could continue on Mullen’s current path. The next coach at Mississippi State must make use of all the offensive resources available to the Bulldogs, and Morris would be capable of doing so.

Bill Clark, UAB
Bill Clark has done a magnificent job this season rebuilding the UAB program. He has guided the Blazers to an 8-4 record, after the program was absent for two years. Likely, he has earned a Power 5 job with his performance.

Clark was a defensive coordinator at South Alabama from 2008 to 2012 before becoming head coach at Jacksonville State before the 2013 season. That lack of offensive experience could be a mark against Clark, but he still offers solid skills as a coach.

Neal Brown, Troy
Like Clark, Neal Brown likely has earned a Power 5 job with his work this season. He’s 23-13 in three seasons at Troy, and his stock skyrocketed earlier this fall with an impressive victory at LSU.

His lack of head-coaching experience on a major level would be a concern, just like it would be with Clark. But Brown has experience in the SEC after working as Kentucky’s offensive coordinator during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He would be an intriguing hire.

Mike Leach, Washington State
The thought of Mike Leach at Mississippi State might be an unrealistic wild-card option. But aren’t you curious about how Leach would work out in the SEC?

The situation with the Bulldogs would be appealing, given Leach’s extensive offensive background. He also has created national waves with his success as a coach at Texas Tech and Washington State. And it would be awesome to see Leach work with Fitzgerald. Leach would be worth the call.

Kiffin has some experience with Mississippi because his brother was on Hugh Freeze's staff at Ole Miss. (No pun intended).
