Maye played LB after Powell went out last game and was apparently good at doing it. Also some injury updates in there. Anzalone still out, Case Harrison out, Lewis, Thompson and Rolin will practice this week. Also, Bullard got SEC defensive player of the week.

I was wondering why i saw dawson out there vs UK more.

well, he's like a meyer-sized backer but if he can lay the lumber and the coaches like what they see more power to him.

hope our depth at safety steps up if he gets moved for a bit.

Good, because he sure as hell hasn't been playing safety. Harris and Neal should be moved also.

I doubt he plays LB much against TN with how they have been attacking on offense.

He's not good in coverage, but most safeties aren't. Still, I like the move.

I don't know that would leave Washington as one of the safety's and despite what I thought he really didn't look very good back there.....Harris would be the safe choice IMO.

Dawson? Wilson? Some dude from the band who understands deeper than the deepest man or who could at least stay on the same tv screen with a receiver running a deep route?

Wilson and Dawson would be damned good in coverage but I'd rather see Wilson in the nickel....can Poole play safety?

Kentucky went 8-24. Somebody's doing something.

If he's serviceable there then it beats being a liability in the backfield. Dawson plays a better safety so we'll be ok.

The test is whether or not the receivers are running around uncovered like they have been the last two years, not whether not Kentucky's version of Driskel is able to complete a pass to said receivers.

Their receivers couldn't catch a cold. Not given no that much credit to our DBs or Safeties.

We'll need him to cover the Ingram kid from Ole miss. Smart move by the staff, and he can always go back when/if AA comes back.

He is not REALLY playing LB. He plays dime, which is the DB that subs for the Will backer, one of the two inside backers. (The nickel subs for the Sam backer.) If the motion or formation is right, the Will/Dime and Mike flip assignments.

But I'd be happy to see any or all of them move to LB, for realz.

Gatorzone is showing a nickel defense on the depth chart now. I suspect this means that POOLE will actually be the one playing "LB" on all the plays that, if we had bodies, we'd have a real Sam LB playing.

Contrast that with the reaction of the onlookers on the sidelines. It's a combination of "Yep", "Sounds about right", "FML", and a woman wondering if she remembered to turn the porch light off.

The real winner is the camera guy who's lucky enough to be able to shoot the game-losing play.
