Running the ball is contingent on having men up front imposing their will on the defense, we have girls primping and dancing. Our line culture is one of submission not domination. Boy we could use the Great Wall attitude right now. Go Gators.
What's up everyone...I had to step back after the loss Saturday so I could fully take in the loss and rewatch the game before I could put my 2 cents in.
Well....here we go!
1) this loss isn't on Stricklin or the staff! This is on the previous AD and his last garbage hire.
So a year later we can't even compete with em? With the same freaking players. Shouldn't we have gotten better this off season, regardless of whose roster it is?
Yeah, we weren't killing it running the ball but we averaged over 4.4 yds per carry. Perine averaged 8.5. The play calling was bad and put way too much on FF arm who clearly can't handle carrying the team.Tell me how well we were doing running between the tackles. Look, I'm not trying to be argumentative, but rather I am trying to point how hemmed in the guy is with this group of athletes.
If he fails over the next two recruiting classes, but esp this next one, to fill those spaces with the athletes he needs, I'll be right there with you heckling the guy.
I'm gonna give him his chance first.
The back and forth with NV began over how the running game looked early on, which was at best average. We got very little going on the ground and least of all consistency on the ground.Yeah, we weren't killing it running the ball but we averaged over 4.4 yds per carry. Perine averaged 8.5. Anyone should be able to see we should have tried to run the ball more. The RB's only had 18 carries total in the game and you think that is fine? Okay, I guess we just have to wait a couple years before we try to establish a run game.
18 carries split among 4 backs while Franks throws the ball 40 times a game and runs 10 times a game is obviously all we can do, no choice, because, you know, Mac. Thanks for enlightening us.
Which, when FF is your QB, leads to getting your dik stomped in by UK at home when you let Franks run or pass on 80% of your offensive plays. Hence, Mullen sucks and can't make in game adjustments. The back and forth with NV began over how the running game looked early on, which was at best average. I probably shouldn't have to remind you, but Mullen's offense is a tad bit quarterbackcentric.
My job isn't to defend Mullen but rather the truth. Franks is a raw passer and an average runner who's at his best at full speed. He has zero moves behind the LOS. I'm gonna dare him to beat me if I'm the opposing DC. I think Kentucky made an early and smart move to stop the run.Which, when FF is your QB, leads to getting your dik stomped in by UK at home when you let Franks run or pass on 80% of your offensive plays. As an aside, see how bad MSU's offense and defense is struggling now that Mullenz and the dwag-chocker are gone? I don't know how they will ever get by without those stalwarts of O & D play-calling.
Mullen needs to kick him off the team. He needs to set an example and show what happens when you don't do what your supposed to do. Like WM did with Janoris.Talked to an insider today and guess CeCe Jefferson isn't just grades. Yesterday was the first day he went to class all semester. He's checked out and ready for the draft next year. Leaving after fall semester....Mac just created an environment of laziness and no accountability
His point is Kentucky outplayed us last year, just like Tennessee. That was a 2-9 team out there.

Didn't see 2nd half so....
