Pretty sure it's free to be in the parade unless it's changed from when I went to school.

We had a float one year that was made to look like Ben Hill Griffin stadium and had one of our guys dressed like Mr. Two Bits in it. This guy was my fraternity's version of John "Bluto" Blutarsky. He ripped his pants right through the butt seam while doing a Two Bits cheer right at the start of the parade and went the whole parade route cheering with his ass hanging out. Needless to say he was out of his mind drunk.

Just a 4' X 1.5' piece of vinyl. You have the parade car. Sounds like you need a gatorchatter parade organizer. I wish I could help.

I wish I could describe the thing we entered as a float in 86 but I could never do it justice. Picture a rusty early 70s Impala convertible with 2x4s nailed to it, (yes, nailed) and green petal paper hanging off of about half of it. It think it was supposed to be a big alligator but it looked more like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree.

I think Kennedy had a better parade in Dallas in 63. Come to think of it that would be a hell of a float....get an old 61 Continental convertible and put a bloody headless mannequin in the back seat with a hot chick in perky pink outfit and pillbox hat standing up and waving. Have some big guys in dark suits with sunglasses, crew cuts and earwigs walking next to it. Good times.....

1. Pitiful turnout given this appears to be on Univ Ave just past 13th. It appears there are more participants than viewers.
2. If the location is accurate - is Leonardo's by the Slice still there? I thought UF bought the property and was going to tear it down?
3. Do they still run the 2mile Gator Gallop beforehand? I've always hoped to bring my kids down sometime and have them run it with me.
