Another step in breaking a good system... if they start paying players, the whole game and landscape of college football will change forever.

NCAA had no choice. Either relent or the Large 5 would form their own league. probably call it the AFLCIO-AA. Hotdog and a cold drink will be $30 before long. I'm guessing at some point they will be trying to go to the bigs straight from high school.

I have no problem with this. The ncaa rules are terrible. They are also slow. I'm hoping the power conferences eventually break away from the ncaa. Could guys imagine no more money grab games? This would be awsome in my opinion.

I apologize for starting this thread - I didn't see that someone had already started one on the subject.

It's only going to get worse from here on out. The ones who were already paying them will pay them more now to keep ahead of the rest...

What about a baseball player at UF? Or a gymnast? Don't they deserve something? How about Billy's boys? Basketball brings in some pretty good revenue. Slippery slope is right.

This is a landmark decision assuming the lower conferences don't fight it. It will significantly alter the landscape of college ball. It's not just pay for play, the conferences are also getting significant autonomy. This could actually be great for us as one of the richest teams in the richest conferences with the richest recruiting base.

I believe they will get "cost of attendance" stipends which I believe means they'll be giving the players cash to buy things like food. Or whatever else they want to spend it on.
