Changes may be on the table to the NCAA's four-game redshirt rule - FootballScoop

Two years post-implementation, the NCAA will review the 4 game rule as they don’t like the optics created by players like D’Eriq King and coaches like Holgorsen. Instead of policing that particular instance, the NCAA will review changing the benefit that undoubtedly helps the vast majority of players get experience without burning eligibility. The NCAA and its logic continues to boggle the mind.

Name, rank, service number, and date of birth if you wish to opine.

I don't think the NCAA has an issue with the four games as much as it being used to circumvent transfer rules and such...

Simple solution really is to limit the four game red shirt rule to sophs and freshman and make it a mandatory sit year for anyone who transfers

It's a shame there's always "that guy" looking for and abusing loopholes wherever they exist.

None if this relates to the problem. More silliness.

The problem isnt the 4 game rule.

The problem isnt the transfer portal, which just allows some transparency instead of the old system of having your HS football coach or uncle call around looking for a new home and pretending teams and players werent contacting each other.

The problem is the NCAA waiving the one year penalty after transferring for anyone who once heard a racial slur or who is very short.

I said it when they first announced the rule. It’s a great idea that will undoubtedly get abused. As if we needed another reason to hate that white trash assh*le Holgersen.
