I still can’t believe we got that call.
Not complaining, but I still don’t think it was a catch. It was a favorable and unexpected call for us for sure. But the way it was broken down made perfect sense. If Palmer had instead rushed for the touchdown, it wouldn’t matter how long he had possession once the ball was in his hands and crossed the goal line. Even bang bang would go to the offense. The split second JG had it, the touchdown—like those kids’ jewelry a few months prior—was his.
exactly. you can fumble into the end zone. you cannot fumble in the end zone.
besides, we know, and they know, that Sos would have scored on second and goal
third and goal
and fourth and goal
and fifth and goal
and sixth and goal
if he caught it on the 5 he probably wouldn't have immediately put his hands up for the touchdown sign. Not complaining, but I still don’t think it was a catch.
If that play occurred on the 5, and Vols recovered the “fumble”, I bet there would be a different consensus.
Uhmmmmm.......if he caught it on the 5 he probably wouldn't have immediately put his hands up for the touchdown sign.
