Here is Mississippi St's Total Offensive rating compared to UF during Mullen's tenure:

Miss St UF
2010 - 42 83
2011 - 84 105
2012 - 80 104
2013 - 42 115
2014 - 8 96
2015 - 31 112
2016 - 44 116
2017 - 49 112

Average 47.5/yr 105.37/yr

I'd say averaging 47th a yr is a very good upgrade opposed to 105th. Pretty sad when Florida Atl and Florida Intl have finished ahead of us in total offense majority of these yrs. I hope Coach Mullen comes in here and produces the same, if not better, offensive numbers.

So if that trend continues we'll have one good year of offense sandwiched in between several years of average offenses. And at a 7 million a year bargain nonetheless. Yippee.

Guess you can't please everyone huh?? So we should continue on the horrible offensive production by incompetent coaches? Or hey, Kelly would have come and been average for all we know. I will take average any day of the week compared to being bottom dwellers in offensive production. Hell, we cannot even put together a sustainable drive and have consistent 3 and outs which is a laughing stock. On 3rd down conversions this year, Miss St ranked 13th converting 46% of the time. And UF ranked 111th converting 32%. (FWIW......Clown school and scUM was worse, 120th and 122nd)

I'd be fine with that improvement, if it wasnt for 7 mil a year and what we all know is probably gonna end up being another huge buyout number as well. What's really concerning is this year was supposed to be a great year for them b/c they had the stud at the qb they needed. And yet, their passing game was horrific; statistically worse than ours was. Yeah, worse.

Those are good and relevant stats. They are even more relevant when you consider that MSU plays in the SEC west. And they are even more relevant if you are one to believe that UF is a better job than MSU due to history, location, recruiting, etc.

I HOPE he produces BETTER... Considering that he should be able to get superior players at UF; combined with the fact that he is now also in the less competitive Eastern division, I hope he produces far better than average...

whew! for a second, I thought we were going to go all crazy and bring back the forward pass.
Yeah, you see last decade, he used to let his QB throw... some..... a few 4 yard crossing patterns that Percy housed.

So because we have sucked for the last 7-8 years, we need to be happy with mediocrity? No thanks.

If those 40th ranked offenses make us title contenders and winners once again, then I'll be fine with it. I just fear with him if there's average offenses, then you'll just have average teams. Seems like we're overpaying quite a bit for a guy that's only had one really good season out of nine.

Your brain broken? He's had some very good competition with 3 teams in his division winning nattys during that time.

If we had the 31st ranked offense in 2015, we're 12-0 going into Atlanta with a legit chance to beat Bama and make the playoffs.

Actually, the year before last Prescott threw for 3793 yards, 29 TDs, and 5 INTs.
So out of the past 14 years, you can find two good years, huh?

Wanna know how many 100+ years I can find?

2 of those 3 national title winning coaches were fired and currently aren't employed by a school. I know the point you are trying to make, but that's not the best example.
