I think we have issues as a team; but there's progress there too. For as often as we tend to criticise him (and I include myself in that category), White made some good adjustments today that won us the game. Switching to zone halted WV's run in its tracks and they never recovered. Keeping faith with our shooters saw the shots drop; and keeping faith with the rotation sees stats like Florida rotating 12 guys in the game--and having all score.

I think we'll struggle against most elite teams on our schedule; but by the end of the year when our freshman have more experience, I wouldn't be surprised if we're a tough opponent come SEC tournament time.

We took 46 FTs!!!!!! And only made 28....that is 18 missed FTs. Somebody needs to man up and take charge and inspire and lead this team on offense. Hoping its Allen

I like the freshman. Nembhard had 6 assists to 2 turnovers.

Good to see Allen step up on O. Keep that up and keep Hudson on the bench. No idea what's the issue with him. He is lost.

The switch to zone was a fine move.

HUGE WIN for the Gators!! Masterful defense causing 20 WV turnovers, 13 steals, and 7 blocked shots. Masterful COACHING by White to switch up the defense from man to man to zone to 1-3-1 and back to zone in that PIVOTAL 2nd half. Also masterful coaching by White to get Allen going and stay with the hot hand as Allen had 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. ANOTHER great game for Allen in back to back games. Gators missed a ton of fts BUT they MADE 14/18 down the stretch to close out the game. CLUTCH Gators there! HUGE win over a power 5 team and a future tourney team. Go Gators!!

I still have hope for Hayes, he's played too many very good games.

Owned and destroyed. I love this team. So many good players. So many young studs. About as good as Gator BB can get. With even more talent on the way.

As bad as the offense was, the defense was just as good. WVU didn’t make a shot inside the arc for a 12 minute stretch in the 2nd half. Hoping we can make some more open shots this Saturday, cause MSU isn’t gonna shoot 29% from the floor.

This team will deliver heartbreaks. We beat a team by 10, but at any time were you sure we had this game. I was stuck expecting a collapse was coming.?

They look unpracticed in physical movements to set up their offensive attacks? As a "group" (team?) they so often seem mentally stopped - no idea about everybody continually quickly shifting to shake their defender, to help the ball handler to create plays - to create opportunities.? Instead they "maneuver" for many minutes to throw up a 3.? Players aren't letting teammates get into rebound-ready positions before they fire.?

They're almost good on defense. Their plan & actions should be toward dismantling the opponent's offensive flow = not just in some stretches of the game, but throughout. White's almost platooning players, why not relentless speed, continuous harassment ?

Overall, the team develops zero identity.? There's enough experienced returnees, that this team should have started the season more seasoned.? Slack coaching? We got a rebounding specialist coach, yet nobody seems pounding into players how to keep pliable "snag-it" hands/fingers always ready.?

Being a team man, I only want what's best for me. :D

Gators MADE 14/18 FTs to close out the game. CLUTCH GATORS there baby!
Good point, Boss. That was the probably the deciding factor in the end.........he got those boys to play their best def of they year and that will bode well when they see what they can do when shots or FTs dont fall.

Didn't see the game (plan to watch it tonight) but the box score shows JHudson with 6 minutes, 4 3pt attempts and zero points. Wow.

I think that ride has ended.

This might be unprecedented for a Gator freshman PG.

STAGGERING STATISTIC: Coming into the night, freshman point guard Andrew Nembhard's last turnover came with 9:25 left against Stanford in the Battle 4 Atlantis. That was three games ago. He went nearly 15 minutes of the first half before he finally was whistled for his first give-away in a stunning 82-plus minutes over four games. Along the way, Nembhard was credited with 25 assists

This team is continuing to show a Jeckle and Hyde personality. That 8 min scoring drought was brutal. Hopefully, they grow more consistent as the season progresses. Definitely like the freshmen and other young players who have shown improvement. For now, I’m tempering my expectations.

Hopefully we are getting a feel for what we can and can't do in preparation for a rugged SEC season and then the NCAA's. Kintucky, Tinerc and Barn will be tough and worthy foes. One thing about it, if we have a hot shooting night we could score 150 on anybody.
and the defense is outstanding!

IMO, scoring droughts reveal that you have no "inside game" no athletic forward that the team would turn to. Only promise I can hope for presently is Isiah Stokes - White's got to let him play himself into big use - if his knee-health can make it ? Maybe Hayes improves with Stokes playing well ? Then we can have some inside power ? White, make 6'8" Stone learn to bang & bring some kind of "touch-shot" to the inside. Nembhard has shown he can feed those positions. Trips down the court gotta combine some 65% FGs inside with those 32%-40% 3-pts outside.
