I prefer something a little more fearsome. But that's just me.

The lighter fabric outfits should decrease the sweat-loss, thereby saving the mascots energies…. so we should expect
more moves like multi-flips etc.

At least it isn't a drooling, inbred animal that lays on a bag of ice all day because it can't stand for more than 3 minutes at a time. Nor some college kid with make-up on riding a pony (young Caitlyn?).

Those bulldogs are so inbred the breeders have compounded their inherent COPD. That bulldog sonly good for one
toss of fetch -- gotta bury him where the toy lands.

If they are going to change the costume, they may as well go "all out" instead of minor cosmetic changes. I always felt we should have a real alligator as our mascot, and then I realized they are not a pet to be trotted out.
By the way, does anyone know from where the names "Albert" and "Alberta" originated?

Name and town if you wish to opine.

A live alligator named Albert first appeared at football games during the 1957 season, and served as the mascot of the football team on the field before the costumed version of Albert became the mascot in 1970.He was joined by a female version, Alberta, in 1984

I'm kind of surprised that 2% of the student body hasn't successfully lobbied for a more androgenous.....thing.

I cringed when I read this thread title. But I'll be honest, it's not that bad. I'm definitely a traditionalist, but I think the new F should be used, so I'm ok with that. The other changes seem minor. And in the current context, the fact that it's Alberta wearing the lipstick and the dress, I think has to be chalked up as a win.

Given the inability to have a live mascot, it stands to reason that no matter what they put out there is going to require suspension of the imagination. At least we don't have something that looks like plantation owner Colonel Sanders or a child's rendering of a tiger.

All our mascots are live and in great physical condition, I might add. We need some small kids Gatorscots that
scoot around and chase UGGa back into his transport basket.

Not bad, they're ok. As long as Albert kicks the ball licker and knocks Chief Assehola off the horse I'm good with it.

Another plus is it's not something like the Semenholes mascot that swallows.

My wild ass kids go stone cold silent around either of them. Some sort of magical power.

I've always wondered if it is an actual chick inside Alberta.
