They cut the lights to pitch black, the intro to "Eye in the Sky" by Allen Parsons Project cranks on through the sound system and at the exact moment the first note rings out, 2 spotlights flash on on opposite ends of the court, one on SOS and the other on Kelly. They walk toward each other meeting at midcourt. No words are spoken, Spurrier simply takes off his Gator visor and hands it to Kelly who puts it on and turns to the crowd. Fireworks fly and the party starts.

Someone around here has to be able to get the concept of this theater to someone who can make it happen. Regardless of who is chosen and when.

If it were a coach not coaching a present team, then contract talks would have been 2 weeks old and money most assuredly would have been discussed. Furthermore, the HC hire is known somewhat before any money matters are hit upon. This is logic & stronger than any rumor: If Kelly were a target Strictland would have gone after him first and by now be proudly announced as UF's HC.

All rumors connect to nothing ... just sports writer's filler, message board chicanery. You'll see; they'll drift over to UT rumors because they've played out the UF rumors by now. Stricklin may have hush-hush feelers out to coaches currently coaching but no logic in hush-hush on any closeness to getting Kelly.

Let's see how long after Dec.2nd before news breaks. Shouldn't take a week because any HC prospect wants to keep UF's good recruits and gather more top recruits for his first team here.

Why does Stricklin have to be on the plane?

If he is hiring and wants a face to face first he might show his being serious by being on the plane that is bringing Kelly to UF. He does not have to be on the plane.
