I don't know if they do or not, but I don't gamble, and don't particularly want to see this gambling crap on the main forum. Just don't think it belongs here. I'm probably the only person who feels this way so I'll deal...
I don't gamble either. I actually hate the idea of gambling real money. ...mostly because I see it's negative effects. I do think games like this are enjoyable, though I'd honestly hate to think that they enticed someone to gamble real money and lose money they needed. With that caveat, I think the Sportsbook idea was a good one and I hope that we can laugh together (and at each other!) about these things. ...and it may be fun to track over the season and over many seasons to see who actually can predict something about the sport (if you can draw that kind of correlation).
Funny story... The only time I've ever 'gambled' was when I entered the one and only NCAA bracket pool. I lived and worked in eastern Ohio for 18 months from fall 2006 to spring 2008. I got a temporary job in a factory and joined the pool to build camaraderie with the guys. You may be tracking with this already, but while working there, UF won the 2006 Football championship over the Buckeyes (Troy Smith sacked again!). Then came the basketball tournament. I filled out my bracket and had the Good Guys over the Buckeyes in the final, while the plant manager had the Bucks over the Gators. The finals winner determined the winner of the pool and around $90. We won the game. I won the money. While living there, UF beat them for a football championship, a basketball championship and LSU (they HATE the SEC) beat them for a football championship.
We enjoyed our time in Ohio, though I don't want to live my whole life there. We certainly were there during the right months!
