India Named SEC Player of the Week

Jonathan India was named the SEC Player of the Week for his performance against No. 5 Florida State and No. 8 Vanderbilt, the Southeastern Conference Office announced on Monday.
India went 6-for-13 last week with two home runs, five runs scored and four RBI as he helped lead the Gators to four wins over Top 10 ranked opponents. He now has five home runs in SEC play are tied for the most in the conference.
With a hit in every game last week, India extended his career-best hitting streak to 15 games. In that span, he is batting .551 (27-for-49) with a 1.143 slugging percentage and .629 on-base percentage. He has seven home runs and 16 RBI in that span.
The Gators are back in action this week with a midweek contest against Florida Gulf Coast (22-5) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at McKethan Stadium. Florida travels to Knoxville this weekend for a three-game series at Tennessee.
