How many 5 stars are on our current roster? 2?
One incoming DT, one incoming LB, the RB that’s transferring in, and the Lotso bear kid from PSU. So 4 total.
Could be thinking of McCray. He came in at 200 as a LB and ended up around 250#. Interesting part about him is he was ask to play with his hand in the dirt at times in 2010-2011 but again we had a plug in Omar Hunter and studs like Floyd, Howard and Easley backed up with a couple of guys named Jenkins and Bostic.....Boy do a miss Durkin as a recruiter/LBer coachare you thinking of someone else?
I would trade Dwag choker and little Dwag GA "linebacker coach" for Durkin in a fraction of a microsecond....Boy do a miss Durkin as a recruiter/LBer coach
The big difference is Durkin could recruit around any short comings he may have had as a DC....Toad simply lives for the exotic look.I trade Dwag choker and little Dwag GA "linebacker coach " for Durkin in a fraction of a microsecond.

The 5 stars (Rivals 6.1)
Carl Johnson
Tim Tebow
Percy Harvin
Brandon Spikes
BOOM MFers. These five stars lead UF to championships. It's hard to imagine even winning the Division without them.
Percy and Tebow were basically unstoppable. You could scheme to contain them but the fact is it wouldn't work because your X's werent as good as our Os. No LB or safety could be counted on to tackle reliably.
However, losing Percy meant teams could focus on Tebow and stall our offense.
Nothing matters more than the 5 stars, IMO. However if you do look at more classes you will see that even they have about a 50%ish failure rate.
The High 4 stars (Rivals 6.0 and 5.9)
Jarred Fayson (6.0)
Chevon Walker (5.9)
Jamar Hornsby
Justin Williams
Jacques Rickerson
Jermaine Cunningham
Riley Cooper
Mon Williams
Well, some misses or did not develop types in this batch but still pretty good production. MWilliams and Walker of course were hindered by the offense that hinders the RB's ability to produce. The same can be said for Cooper, JWilliams and Fayson.
The Low 4 stars:
Dustin Doe
Corey Hobbs
Terron Sanders
Bryan Thomas
Trent Pupello
Jim Barrie
Brandon Antwine
Marcus Gilbert
A.J. Jones
Doe and Jones were big contributors. Gilbert too. A lot less results from this group. And certainly not the leaders of the team that brought us championships.
The Three Stars (Rivals 5.7-5.5)
Lawrence Marsh (5.7)
Maurice Hurt (5.6)
Brandon James (5.5)
Markihe Anderson
Derrick Robinson
Pretty good results from this group. Certainly not stars but functional players. Is there a difference between a 5.8 four star and a 5.7? It's hard to see much of a difference looking at the classes. The 5.6 and 5.5s generally have a much lower success rate.
Two Star Garbage
Wondy Pierre-Louis
Garbage as expected.
This may be true, but there were a ton of Freshmen and Sophomores on D who learned from '07 to take huge leap forward in '08.The play of Lawrence Marsh was the difference between getting pushed around in 2007 and winning the National Championship in 2008. I thought he played great and let spikes run free on D.
