That split window is is/was gorgeous. One of my favorites.Worked on many a Vette in my days but only one that "made it twitch", That being the 63 split window. But the C8 is getting close.
Not really if you look at the details. But there's only so much you can do with a mid engined V8. Short nose, cockpit and then long rear. I'm a mod on the Ferrari forum, a few guys there have placed orders. It looks like a freaking Ferrari.

Do-it.....do-it....do-it, not that I want you to feel like a guinea pig or anything . Seriously though I doubt anyone is going to be disappointed with this car. Can't wait to see one up close.IMO for the $70k price it offers supercar performance at a fraction of the new cost of a Ferrari. I'm really tempted.
I read a lot of stories on this car when it was still a "rumor", and it's ironic you frame it this way, because that is exactly why some were saying they were interested in a mid engine design, because there was only so much they could do at this point with the front engine. But there's only so much you can do with a mid engined V8.
Yeah, I get the front vs. mid debate in terms of performance. It was time the Vette stepped up to a ME design.I read a lot of stories on this car when it was still a "rumor", and it's ironic you frame it this way, because that is exactly why some were saying they were interested in a mid engine design, because there was only so much they could do at this point with the front engine.
They suspected that they were quickly reaching the limits, from a performance aspect with the front engine.
Good points all. I can tell from your comments that you've spent considerable time around cars. The chrome comment is spot on. Corvette wheels have sucked for the longest time over the Cragar look. If I wanted a '68 GTO, I'd have shopped for one. Don't put that chrome crap on my late model sports car.Yeah, I get the front vs. mid debate in terms of performance. Body-wise, there is only so much you can do with the ME design. It doesn't look anything like any current Ferraris though. It's angular, and the Ferrari designs are soft and curvy. It looks like a current Acura NSX to me.
If you haven't seen the wheel selection, you should check them out on the configurator. No chrome and they're all pretty nice.
My only complaint is the pictures of the interior look typically Chevy. They tried too hard to make it special and they failed, it looks like something a high schooler would have drawn. I'll hold off on final judgement there until I sit in one.
Mod on the Ferrari forum? Does this mean you own a Ferrari? If so, pics or you are banned. Not really if you look at the details. But there's only so much you can do with a mid engined V8. Short nose, cockpit and then long rear. I'm a mod on the Ferrari forum, a few guys there have placed orders.

This and they should have left the quad tipped exhaust exiting from the middle instead of moving it to the sides.I'll add that the C8 rear end is a disappointment. It's as if GM tried slapping on the tail lights from a 2013 Camaro. Doesn't work on a car trying to reach into the super car market.
Yes I've had way too many cars over the years. The past couple have been the only time I've not had a hobby car.
