#1: Alabama

#2: LSU

#3: Ohio State

#4: Tennessee

5. Florida

Rookies: Lions LB Jarrad Davis (pick No. 21 overall), Jets S Marcus Maye (No. 39), Colts CB Quincy Wilson (No. 46), Lions CB Teez Tabor (No. 53), Saints OLB Alex Anzalone (No. 76), Raiders OT David Sharpe (No. 129), Browns DT Caleb Brantley (No. 185), Falcons DT Joey Ivie (No. 228), Panthers DE Bryan Cox (undrafted).

The skinny: Davis has started every game for Detroit and is a reliable force in the middle of the defense. Maye has had his ups and downs, but he's been a very impactful player for one of the most underrated defenses in the league. Anzalone was off to a good start before he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 4. Tabor and Wilson haven't made the impact that many expected.

Tabor is exactly what I expected. He is way too slow. I don't know what AA's problem is to get injured so much. Is he that unlucky?

Gators in the NFL: Bryan Cox Jr. goes from practice squad to playoffs

http://www.gatorsports.com/2017/12/gators-in-the-nfl-2/

Panthers defensive end Bryan Cox Jr. touched the football for the first time in his NFL career as he recovered a Jameis Winston fumble and returned it 15 yards as Carolina beat Tampa Bay 22-19 on Sunday to secure a playoff spot.
The undrafted rookie also showed his versatility and value on special teams, as he led the wedge block that sprung teammate Damiere Byrd on a 103-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the closing minutes of the second quarter.
Cox Jr. is part of a rookie class of nine Gators that was ranked No. 5 overall by NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah last week. Cox Jr. was the only player of the nine to go undrafted but made Carolina’s practice squad initially and earned his way onto the field and made an impact this week.

Around the NFL, Patriots running back Mike Gillislee saw the field for the first time in nearly two months and scored a touchdown in his return. Gillislee caught his first pass as a Patriot on a screen pass that gained 15 yards and also carried six times for 28 yards as New England pulled away from Buffalo 37-16. Teammate Dion Lewis got the bulk of the carries and an injury last week to Rex Burkhead (knee) opened the door for Gillislee to play against his former team. On the other side, Bills wide receiver Deonte Thompson made some explosive plays for Buffalo’s offense catching four passes for 91 yards with a long of 46 yards.

Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap had a sack, a pass deflection and four tackles for Cincinnati as they eliminated Detroit from playoff contention 26-17. Dunlap has had a solid season with one game left but currently has the third-lowest sack total (6.5) of his eight-year NFL career. Lions linebacker Jarrad Davis made five tackles for Detroit in the loss while teammate Teez Tabor also had five tackles.
Raiders safety Reggie Nelson forced a fumble and made his first interception of the year, after going 14 games this season without forcing a single turnover as Oakland lost 20-10 to Philadelphia.
Steelers cornerback Joe Haden returned from the injured list and recorded two tackles and a pass deflection as he squared off with one of the best receivers in the league, DeAndre Hopkins, in Pittsburgh’s 34-6 Christmas Day win over Houston.
Falcons safety Keanu Neal recorded ten total tackles and one pass deflection as Atlanta lost to New Orleans 23-13. Teammate Brian Poole added seven tackles for Atlanta who is still in the NFC Wildcard race and can clinch a spot in the playoffs with a win next week against Carolina.
49ers wide receiver Louis Murphy caught one pass for 17 yards as San Francisco moves to 4-0 with Jimmy Garappolo as starting quarterback.
Colts linebacker Antonio Morrison tallied nine total tackles and cornerback Quincy Wilson added three tackles in Indianapolis’ 23-16 loss to Baltimore on Saturday.
Jets safety Marcus Maye made six tackles as New York fell 14-7 to the L.A. Chargers.

And yet...The coaching staff was to blame.

Getting blown out in Atlanta in back-to-back years was pretty kewl.

Wilson has been injured throughout much of the season.

I find it quite interesting that there are some players who did absolutely nothing here, or palyed sparingly, or played and were absolutely horrendous when they did play. Tells me a lot about the coaching on 3 different staffs.

Earl Okine- played almost none, when he did he was awful Looked amazing though in street clothes with that size. Can you be on a practice squad 7 or so removed from college?
Deonte Thompson. Unbelievable. Going on 10 years almost and was so underutilized here.
Carlos Dunlap. I mention him b/c Jermaine Cunningham was selected 1 spot before him in the 2nd round by the Patriots. One of the dumbest picks ever by the Pats. Goes to show you they miss a lot in the draft. But knowing the Pats, Dunlap was not even on their board given his history. The Pats do take chances on guys who have problems in the NFL, but not usually out of college. Too bad for them b/c Dunlap is a player.
Chaz Green. Awful here and apparently awful in the NFL from what I have heard
Chris Thompason. Who? Did he ever see the field in college other than pregame?
Mack Brown. Wow. Surprised is not the word.
Jon Halapio. Does he chase the D-lineman he whiffed on in the backfield in the NFL as often as he did here?
Quinton Dunbar. From a terrible WR to a contributor on defense in the NFL. Guess staff missed that one.

I really liked looking at UF pro players careers in the 90's and 2005-2011. A ridiculously stubborn duo of coaches with one ridiculously stubborn coach and a clueless junk food aficionado later and you seem glad that these guys succeeded despite being led by flawed idiots.

Under utilized? He started every game of his career that he wasn't hurt and he dropped 97% of the passes that were thrown his way.

He spent most of his career on the scout squad and stays because of STs. He is a decent tackler. Probably should have been a DB.

Chris Thompason. Who? Did he ever see the field in college other than pregame?
Sure. He had the highest percentage of penalties to special teams plays in history.

Dude is set for life now:

Quinton Dunbar signs three-year contract extension
Dunbar signed as an undrafted free agent in 2015.

https://florida.247sports.com/Bolt/Quinton-Dunbar-signs-three-year-contract-extension--113017772

Quinton Dunbar is one player who will be sticking around in D.C.

The Washington Redskins cornerback announced on Instagram that he had signed a three-year, $10.5 million contract to remain with the team, with half of that figure guaranteed. A $3 million signing bonus was also included in the deal. Dunbar signed for the Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2015.

Dunbar's story has been an impressive one. A wide receiver in college at the University of Florida, Dunbar switched positions to cornerback in the NFL, eventually finding a roll on special teams before finding his way onto the field on defense. Dunbar is set for an increase in snaps next season, especially with the likely departure of Bashaud Breeland.

Dunbar will compete with Fabian Moreau for the starting job opposite Josh Norman.

As good as he was at batting down passes, I think it should have been obvious that he would have been a good DB.
