I'm going to bump this thread up. I bet @soflagator is a bandwagon fan now that Jimmy is dead. He will probably be listening to Margaritville and drinking all Labor Day weekend toasting to Buffett.

Though I ran 'em away, they'd come back one day; still could manage to smile, just takes a while,

If you know, you know…

“My rhymes are so potent that in this small segment
I made all of the ladies in the area pregnant
Yes, sometimes my lyrics are sexist
But you lovely b!tches and hoes should know
I'm trying to correct this”

I always hated that song for the stupid reason that much of what she notes as ironic, isn’t. (Maybe one of you can tell me how there’s irony in a black fly in your glass of Chardonnay.).
Was going back through this thread reprisal that I somehow missed and saw your post. Maybe ironic if you were expecting Spanish Fly? :dunno:

But I couldn't fit the part too dumb or too smart
Ain't it funny how we all turned out
I guess we are the people
Our parents warned us about

Single lyrics resonate with me at different times... but one that I tend to come back to:

"I know I was born and I know that I'll die
The in-between is mine
I am mine"

Pearl Jam
