As a former radio DJ, this guy was our gold standard in the field of country music- the Casey Kasem of the country countdown. And as far as I know, still buried in Texas.

Walter Kronkite was awesome. I was just a kid when he finally retired but I have fond memories of hearing him deliver the news.

Dizzy Dean doing the play by play of the Baseball Game of the Week with his sidekick Pee Wee Reese was a treat to listen to. It was sponsored by Falstaff Beer and during rain delays Diz would probably have downed a few before he broke out in singing the Wabash Cannonball. It was back before people got screwed up, had a sense of humor, and could laugh at themselves.
