I think an early signing period would be ok. A rich school like UF could just DQ any signee who has a career changing injury. It gives kids more choice. As for Meyer, why does he even have an opinion? The types of players UF, Michigan, Ohio State etc recruit generally decide late. I guess an occasional late bloomer might already by say Tulane rather than Texas.

Meyer's take is simple:

Why fix something that's not broken (for him).

Ohio State currently has the top ranked class w 16 of 17 commits in the ESPN Top 300. It's unbelievable.

And let's be totally honest here. If there were an early signing period then certain schools wouldn't be able to send their bagman on a last minute drop.....
