Vegas Sportsbook Is Predicting A Major Upset This Weekend

I worked in East Tennessee for ETSU for a long time, (majority of that time they did not have a football team). This is one game I will tune into. If this happens, the meltdown posts on Vol forums will be so very sweet, and would bode well for us when we visit Neyland in a couple of weeks. The meltdown has already started just from reading this prediction.

I don't see this happening. Randy Sanders will have his team ready, but the talent gap is massive. Believe it or not, Tenn hung tough with WV last week for one half. They will win this game easily.

I posted the meltdown links this week. Of course Miami and FSU featured prominently. So did Texas, UCLA, Michigan, etc.

Guess what?

No Tennessee.

And we KNOW they melted down.

Think about how irrelevant they are. The site the aggregates the weekly meltdowns is RollBamaRoll. Historically, that's Tennessee's arch rival. You figure they would be reveling in Tennessee's embarrassment. Not even a blip on their radar.

The problem with teams upset first game = they come into their 2nd game unpuffed by the fake hype they soared in on in that first game. Hope losers continue to lose - but it drops UF's SOS.?
Oh how nice it would be for more of our enemies to lose, mainly 'cause it may flip some recruits to us.
All 2nd games come tomorrow.

I don't see it happening although I really, really hope it does. I'm going to the Tennessee game and I'm going to try to buy tickets outside the stadium. If this were to happen that sure would help me save a few bucks on tickets.

Back in the game: Phillip Fulmer and the rebirth of East Tennessee State football

Phil Fulmer was hired as a consultant to help re-start the East Tennessee State football program.

I'd love to see Fulmer's brilliant Four Point Plan for a football program's restart.

1) Join a Division that Spurrier's not in.

2) Tell on rivals for cheating. No on really needs to go to the state of Alabama anyway.

3) Hope the other team loses 2.

4) Are you gonna finish those fries?

If they lose that game they might fall apart as bad as last season. I think they somehow lost a game last season that they were + 4 in turnovers.

I'm thinking about upsetting the odds ... gonna contact some call-in shows and say UT was seen doing walk-throughs in a vacant parking lot.

I have yet to see where a line is even set on this game let alone Vegas making UT an underdog.

Sorry but what's reported on that link is pretty suspect. On the predicted scores page, it's true that there's a prediction of 17.4 - 6.8 ETSU, but there are no betting lines backing that up or featuring that spread. There's got to be a glitch in whatever data they used to formulate that prediction.

I think Tennessee is in a talent death spiral that is going to leave them entrenched at or near the bottom of the SEC East for some time, but no way do they lose to at home to an FCS team in only its 4th year of play since being reconstituted in 2015 after being dormant since 2003. This is a team that plays its home games at a high school stadium.

Tell you what though, if by miracles of miracles ETSU somehow does pull out the win, or even plays the Vols close, you can bet that the Ol' Ball Coach will have something to say about it. Because the aforesaid high school stadium where ETSU plays just happens to be the home of his HS team, the Science Hill Hilltoppers. In fact the field is named after him. SOS probably has a juicy dig or two all lined up and ready to go, just in case.

Being in the office this week the UToothless fans have already mailed this season in. We have dress down Friday, so of course I wore my Orange & Blue. One of my employees said, "chief, we need to get you a Tennessee shirt". Then another co-worker replies, "why would he want to wear that shyt". They know their team and staff are a joke. And they realize that they will not be relevant for a looooooong time. But, and I say BUT, if ETSU does win it will be full Chernobyl in Hillbilly Land. So much that BVD (Big Vol Daddy) may actually have a stroke. We should probably have a pool on the over/under "F" Bombs that would be in his weekly recap. I don't see ETSU winning, but what a glorious thought if they did.
