JFCStoops remains very close to SOS. He knows what’s going on here. As much as we like to laugh at the tired overplayed notion of him returning to his roots, anything can happen. He’s 61. That’s young enough for one more run. He’s been out of the game long enough that you figure he’s either solidly gone or itching to give it one more try. He’d be a wildly popular pick.
I just come here to get my daily dose of stupid.
Stoops agrees to HC with Spurrier as OC
When you're buying an investment property, would you buy a nice property in a bad neighborhood or the disheveled, run-down unkempt house in the nice neighborhood?I don’t see UF as one of the top jobs in NCAAF.
Too soon for a thread about the head coach that’ll take over from the one we hire now. This one is gonna be f-ed, but we may have hope after that.
I NEVER thought I’d want Kiffin b/c I have disdain for everything about him but my perception of his ability to coach (and I truly don’t have a lot of confidence in my perception there). However, this program has been sh!t for 2 HC regimes, so it’s hard to claim the high ground on anyone.
I don’t see UF as one of the top jobs in NCAAF. Bad facilities for 20 years, bad roster, bad recruiting the last several years so relationships have to be mended, no indication UF will staff up recruiters / analysts, proven record of poor support from AD on those fronts, AD whose future is in doubt (so the hire could be “someone else’s guy” within the year), sky high expectations based on the good old days under 2 HoF coaches, etc. It’s a job you take for the money.
I grew up rooting for the Cincinnati Reds. They were a dynasty that competed with the Yankees for a decades, and a team with a long history of winning. Then the management went slumlord. The words they used were very similar to Fooley's regarding not getting into spending battles etc.So we’re for the time being on the bottom of the pile. That can change very quickly given a number of factors. I don’t buy into the notion of forever.

Today the idea that the Reds could compete ever again is laughable. They destroyed their own income and fanbase. Kids grew up not caring about watching the Reds lose. The organization now celebrates going a game or two over .500 or when the get the odd good player here or there.
We are they.
Once your management powerdives into the ground, it is a long damn way back up.
Can we all please stop with this Spurrier madness? The best we can hope for is that he has a voice in the coaching decision. And even that's questionable with this administration. Stoops? He's been out of football for five years and out of Florida for 20. No relationship with high school coaches, he's had his chances to coach UF and now he's 61. No.
It's time to get on the Lane train. Good recruiter, cocky, stirs things up on Twitter, can run an offense, can hire a good DC, no buyout, is losing his QB and starting over after this year, and almost certainly would take the job. AR would be the best QB he could get his hands on next year and an instant potential Heisman. LFG.

Take a picture of the (empty) student section and tell me what is hardwired.Apples and pears. You can’t compare the two. Certain things in college football that aren’t in professional sports are hard wired.
