It is great to hear that Mullen is at least pursuing these options. Hopefully they both work out, but if not, this is still a positive sign. These are the types of hires that put teams over the top (just look at what Saban does with these Analyst positions as an example). You are getting experience and football intelligence from positions that don't count against your on the field coaching staff. That can only help.
I couldn't see Chump or Butters making either of these hires. They would be too threatened to have someone that might make a better HC in that position.
