Everybody has that one special teacher in their lives, right?
Mine was my 6th grade teacher. She was the best. She created such a special atmosphere, my 6th grade class still keeps in touch with her and with each other we even have reunions every once in a while.
Last year, at the height of the COVID shut-downs, her husband died. Tough time to lose a spouse when people can't visit. A bunch of us pitched in some money and sent a honey baked ham and 50 white roses to her house. We wanted to do something more, something really special, but not something that would make her sad every time she saw it, or that would raise any awkward questions.
She and her husband were musicians, regularly played at local bars, and "their" song was Seminole Wind. We purchased high quality sheet music for the song and had it beautifully framed for her. It is now one of her most treasured possessions.
