So I'm going to the SC game next weekend and it's my 1st time visiting William Brice Stadium. What should I expect? Things to do before the game? Are there any must do's?

Its a dump. The stadium is in the industrial part of an already boring city. Only must thing to do in Columbia, SC, is to leave. I'd seriously consider staying in Charleston and then driving the hour and half for the game.

Wife & I drove over from the ATL and back in the same day back in 2015, it was a noon time start. Went through Greenville going. Took the southern route home through Augusta. Stopped and ate at the Outback in Augusta.

Found parking south of the stadium using a website called ParkWhiz.

We went, we saw, Gators won, no need to go back.

There's not much around the stadium. Admittedly I was in my 20s the first and only time I was there but it seemed like we were out in the country a bit outside of town, lot of pastures and open spaces, then the stadium. The comment above about it being in an industrial area sounds about right, but not heavily built up industrial area, very spread out.

So to sum up, bring alcohol and dont expect much. It's not impressive. I was there for the 07 game where tebow went nuts for yards and TDs and essentially locked up the heisman.

Thanks for all the comments. Hoping it's a noon or 4 game cause I'd like to drive up and back the same day

I went once in the late 90s, while living in Atlanta. I agree with DSS. Bring a lot of alcohol... and food... and anything else you plan on needing while there. There was NOTHING around the stadium at the time.

Thought it was Williams-Brice? But I am sure there is a William Brice somewhere.

I went once. That’s was enough. Nice stadium but Columbia just sucks. They don’t call it the screen door to hell for nothing.

Friday night hit Pearlz Oyster bar in the downtown area, full bar and fun place to go, great food.

Neteng is not kidding. The stadium is a bland concrete monstrosity located next to all your favorite warehouses close to the railroad tracks.

Not a lot to get excited about.

FYI, The gamecock fans used to be a fairly friendly bunch back when they were comfortable with their status in the conference.
Unfortunately that Spurrier guy took them places they had never been and now they believe they are still there. Don’t be surprised if you get alot of crap from the fanbase

I went to HS in Columbia. The Stadium was (is?) in the middle of nowhere. Normally good football weather.

That's all I got.

the weather was really nice for the night game in 07 that i attended. Youll want to bring a warm top and something to keep your hands warm though if you are up high enough that you can feel the wind. That wind whips through there and makes it quite cold after the sun has set. My buddy and I were in t shirts the first qtr. By the 3rd we were bundled up and shivering lol.
