Then I probably shouldn’t wish you a Happy Hanukkah.
I'm just glad to have you back on the board again full-time, 78. You came and went too many times over the past year or two.

I will also happily accept your year-end donation if it will help you in any way with your taxes.

Billy Napier hears the cheers in Gainesville, but he'll be hearing something else if he doesn't win

Paywall site, but the only one imo with a staff of good writers, and my sub has been worth every penny. From the article:

An assistant from another Sun Belt school was shocked during warmups against the Ragin’ Cajuns this season. “I mean, they had guys everywhere — all with clipboards, writing and watching and charting. It was unbelievable.”

The Louisiana athletic department’s approval for making atypical hires was a resource Napier maximized by essentially seeking out hungry coaching apprentices. . .

The stockpiling of manpower stunned Lamb in 2020 when at age 57 he began a season in Lafayette working alongside his former player. . .

“He’s got these young, eager kids who are fresh out of college, and they work their tails off,” Lamb said. “They’re in there trying not only to impress Billy Napier, but also trying to impress the position coaches because they want to move up in this profession.

“Billy’s got an organizational chart that shows where everybody goes and what everybody does. It’s pretty impressive. He’s got an army of people helping him, but they’re all aligned and they know what he wants to do.”

anyone who is slightly aware and somewhat honest with themselves has the exact same concerns.
Unfortunately when he said that all of a sudden I had images of grinning SEC DCs nodding and liking his way of thinking....and waiting.

What a moron. "Gosh, I did not know the organization needed more resources. Do they do this at other winning programs coach?"

I heard him say they are always evaluating the program. So Mr AD, you do not compare your program's infrastructures to other top programs? You are going to pretend you did not know better? You do not talk with other out of conference ADs? Are you sure then that you gave Dumb Dan everything he needed?
Maybe he didn't want to throw good money after bad by spending it on Numbnuts and risk making him harder to fire if he kept averaging 9 wins in meaningless seasons.

Despite most here holding onto the belief that wokeness was his overriding motivation and he was keeping his "buddy" at all costs, to some it was obvious he couldn't wait to cut him loose. Why let Vacationing Dan lazily hire a bunch of support staff when he knew damn well he was on his way out. Instead he was focused on getting the Stand alone done and had already set his sights on Billy Napier. This is Stricklin's chance to step away from Fooley and possibly get something right. The fact that Mullen was a fallback plan makes that hire a little more excusable. The raise much less so but it was more just a gesture then any real money since the buyout remained the same so the raise in reality was small change.

SEC is certainly moving away from neanderthal ball, but slowly. so far only Alabama, Cowbell, old sis, ATM and LSU have returned to modern offenses.

I suppose we could still win the SEC East with Muschamp ball. Tinerc is trying to score points. Everyone else is content to run out the clock.

You're a Napier cheerleader compared to Brooks, who has even sunk to making up religions for him in order to bash him further.

I don't hate the hire as much after reading about him. If he wins, I will be his biggest fan. I don't trust any decision Scott Stricklin makes. That's where I started when we made the hire.

Perhaps you'd like Swamp Gas better? My fingers are twitching when reading your posts lately.
Nah don't do that. I would put a bullet in my head before going over there if you banned me here.
I think some of my concerns are legit. He seems to understand how to run a winning program. So I will take it. I just don't want to see us running clock just to escape with wins. I want us to be annihilate our opponents and have some killer instincts. The SBC he got a lead and just sat on it and ran clock to escape with the win. That doesnt work all the time. Ask Muschamp.

Everyone wants everything you just said. Napier hasn't called a single play for UF yet, let's give him a chance.

I assume this is old news by now, but does this mean that Savage is gone?

We hired a lumberjack. No more free weights or machines. We’re sawing logs.
