This is a bad loss because there is no reason we should have lost this game other than just poor preparation and an incompetent offensive game plan. We came out slinging the ball around like we had an All SEC receiving corp when the opposite is true. We ran the ball all over USCe which is clearly has a better defense than Vandy. Bottomline we played the type of game they needed us to play in order to win. Part of me believes Billy feels it necessary to put AR out there and show the NFL scouts that he is a pocket passer capable of making the right reads and throws. He's not and we all know that. But he continues to do it at the cost of winning. There is no other reason for it IMO! I expect next year to be just as bad or maybe worse...hope I am wrong.... don't think I am.

Not only that, but it bears mentioning: we were missing 2 WRs in Fraziers and Henderson who were either starters or had lots of experience...then lost Pearsall in the first quarter.

Why on earth is the game plan to air it out??

If you would usually make more 2 point conversions than you would miss, then mathematically it would make sense to go for 2 every time you score a touchdown. But of course that isn't the case. If its the first quarter and you're losing 14-6 and score a TD, you kick the point because of the time left. Way too much stuff is going to transpire before the clock runs out. So naturally at some point you get to where you don't have enough time to get possessions to make up that point. That's when you start going for 2, not before. Any 'analytics' which don't take into account the time left in the game are just whale poo.

Analytics on 2 pt are over broad. How are they for teams with poor redzone performance? Never mind, we know

I don’t care what any analytics chart says, you don’t do that in Q3, when you’ve been trailing all game on the road and have a slight boost of confidence. You take your 1 point deficit and keep momentum. Analytics take the human component out of the equation which makes it imperfect and not an end-all. It’s like a trader sticking to their technicals and historical patterns when a major real world event happens. A thousand coaches have won a million games without the aid of what “Siri” says you should do here. Now, it didn’t lose us the game because as long as we traded TD for TD we were going to have to get one eventually. So mathematically it didn’t hurt us, in my view. But a defense that had just watched us drive down on the opening possession suddenly feels good about themselves again(and weren’t terribly far from having a 2 point swing their way with a near pick-6). Bottom line, it’s just one more indicator of a guy in way over his head.
Really fantastic stuff here. You kick the XP and don’t think twice about it . Instead we lost momentum and find ourselves down two scores . It was a bonehead decision . Billy seems to be good for at least two every game

If it were only legal to throw to backs out of the backfield. Maybe use motion for something other than conditioning.

At this point I've seen enough to make a value judgement about the wisdom of BN's typical decisions. I was fine with some of his weird sh@t like going for it in the 1st qtr of the TN game on 4th down on our own 28-yd line, because it worked, but an eyebrow-raiser. The LSU game convinced me he was another Mullen by running out the clock on our own team at the end of the 1st half when we were at the LSU 49 with 2+ minutes left and trailing by 7. Intentionally ran the clock out on his own team in scoring position while losing by 7. LSU sidelines were laughing their asses off. I was stunned that our own coach did that. Now I expect nothing but Dumbassery out of Slingblade and he just keeps delivering it

LSU, USC, TCU all have superior talent compared to us. We have a bunch of 2-3 starts trying to play hero ball on a weekly basis.

LSU had like 25 scholarship players with the program this Jan. Today's loss along with Kentucky and LSU's is on Billy, plain and simple. He better out recruit UGA and bama, if not we're fuched.

In the glass? I didn’t drink for the game(maybe part of the problem), and did some yard work. But I’m about to jump in. What are we drinking?

So if the Gators would have won even tho it would have been an awful display, you would have opted for the 48oz. Cowboy ribeye? :lmao2:
Doubtful big man. It would take me three days to eat one of those tomahawks .
Never had one myself to be honest . They look good though
