I don't see a lot of difference in the defense now versus, say, three or four games ago when we seemingly felt better about it. Our guys are not physical and not coached well on fundamentals. They dive at the ball carrier's feet and they arm tackle. To make matters worse, they often find themselves out of position to make a tackle.

Mainly we don't tackle well, and that weakness is exaggerated when we play an SEC team with big physical athletes.

We don’t have a linebacker that could start at any top tier program and many lower schools, call it what you will.
Mizzo has one we unceremoniously pushed out. He's their best defender and leading tackler. They are 8-1. You're grasping for straws here.

We have more talent than Arkansas, Kentucky & Vandy, all of whom beat us this season or last…and much more talent than USC & USF both of whom took us to the wire over the past 2 years.

Napier isn’t doing for us what Kirby has done for UGA, no matter how much you want it to be true.

Not so fast my friend, Ark QB beat us with his legs and arm yesterday , out QB is very one dimensional a decent passer but can’t run for chit advantage Ark. and I stand by my statement that our LBs are maybe the worst in the league.
Help is on the way with the number one LB class in the nation and maybe the best duel threat QB the nation.
You get rid-of Napier now that class gos to chit we’re back at square one, let this guy get some good players in here which is exactly what he’s doing,

An extra point away from this thread being 15 pages instead of 30.
Or a missed field goal or our wide receiver not letting a db take the ball from him and taking it to the house

Maybe, Maybe not. You can't assume that the game would have had the exact same plays run. If ARK needed a TD to win if down 4, the offensive play calls are probably different and no one knows what the results would have been. Each play that occurs can affect or change the plays that lie ahead.

We're into the make-believe part of tater's tenure where a few mistakes by a player are the difference between 10-2 and 6-6. It's always the players fault.

"Let's save the recruiting class"...is an outdated excuse that we need to stop peddling.

The second Napier gets chit-canned (likely by the georgia game, if not earlier), half of the all-world recruiting class will leave. The NCAA doesn't restrict one-time xfers anymore, so the players would be free to shop around elsewhere.

And lastly, true freshman struggle to play well right off the bat. We have a bunch of highly ranked five and four star guys in our two deep and...well, look at us. There are a few (Wilson, Boardingham, etc.) who are playing and contributing at a high level--but it's the exception rather than the rule. Most of our freshman make a great play on first down, but screw up on third.

So expecting all of the incoming dudes to be all-stars right off the bat is swallowing too much hopium.

I’ll just leave this here. Not sure if it’s been posted or not, but this(bottom left) pic is apparently how we spent our Tuesday last week before our most critical game of the season. Anyone defending this?

What were they doing, why is he dressed like that? I do see he is sporting that silly smirk.

Exactly. Arkansas's OC might actually have called plays meant to score a TD instead of a sideways pass.

Nothing's as simple as changing coaches because once the change is made, schitlin will vett and hire the next guy.

Have you all noticed this: When we played Tennessee, we looked pumped, energetic, strong, even fast. Even our OL was moving people. We looked like an upper tier SEC team.

Okay, that was the first half, mostly. But we looked GOOD. Even Ox was correct in his post game assessment that we were looking at an 8 win team. We did.

Fast forward and our last 7 games have not resembled the team we saw beat Tennessee. Why? I think the critical issues are strength training, the way the staff practices- intensity and regimen, and the staff's motivating the team- tough talk, tough love, demanding them to get better. And, it's clear, the team's units are NOT well coordinated. These kids can play football. It's as if they've been trained out of it.

In a nutshell, the HC has created or allowed a culture that's comfortable, not intense, not demanding.

Personally, I think Corey Raymond has checked out because he has so much experience with good staffs and the results they get that he sees this staff(HC) does not have it.

Also, I was enlightened by the post that suggested the reason Napier said they were excited about our defense was that it looked good in practice, shutting down HIS offense.

I’m assuming Halloween. Not sure. I hope it’s fake, but it seems like an odd thing to just fabricate out of thin air.
Forgot about Halloween. We'd think it was neat and fun if he were winning, I suppose. But he looks like a fool in hindsight.
