Dude, there is precisely ZERO credible information out there. Just like last week and the week before. The fact that some internet dweebs and twitter wannabes post up "news" from their "sources" in order to try and boost their personal credibility in the retarded blogosphere of sports means nothing. Hell I was looking at facebook and seeing random screenshots from this very thread posted up as a "source." The whole thing is beyond retarded.
Not disagreeing with how retarded it all is; Ive been saying that all week.

My thing is can any of these potential candidates R E C R U I T? So I thought I'd put forward a little amateur analysis based on recruiting. Here is a list of 10 prospects I've pulled from social media mentions, offense rankings, win/loss records. They are ranked by:
Recruiting 2017/2018, Offense, Overall W/L Record/2017 W/L Record

1. Willie Taggart [OU]: 18/6, 34, 46-50/6-5

2. Dan Mullen [MSU]: 27/12, 49, 69-46/8-4

3. Justine Fuente [VT]: 28/15, 56, 45-30/9-3

4. Pat Narduzzi [Pitt]: 38/61, 95, 21-17/5-7

5. Matt Campbell [ISU]: 44/51, 73, 45-28/7-4

6. Scott Frost [UCF]: 53/59, 5, 17-7/11-0

7. Mike Norvell [Memphis]: 62/74, 6, 17-6/9-1

8. Charlie Strong [USF]: 69/42, 12, 62-39/9-2

9. Philip Montgomery [Tulsa]: 79/NR*, 38, 18-19/2-9

10. Chad Morris [SMU]: 84/49, 10, 13-22/6-5

Give Taggart another two or three years and he may eventually get back to .500.

I sure as hell hope we have a rabbit in our hat bc none of the ones Ive seen listed are elite coaches, except maybe Frost. A list of guys, all with glaring holes in their games. A few, like Taggart, with no discernible strengths.

Im sure Foley is canvassing some Sunbelt coaches we can hire for 2 mil or less. His runnerup from last time, Mark Hudspeth, is still there for then taking. I think he is 18-18 since then.

Yeah, I'm a little surprised of Florida openly discussing meeting with a coach whose season isn't over yet. I thought we said that was a no-no.
Florida is discussing this? I thought the speculation was Frosts agents leaked the info.

We have recruiters and can hire a handful more after we flush some of the terrible crap on the current staff. No reason to destroy half the next decade too with another shyt hire.

Just keep the interim tag on someone and keep hunting next year if necessary.
You really seem to have a donkey-boner over this idea of Randy effing Shannon as our HC. He's one helluva nice guy and a really mediocre to bad football coach. Almost any one of the names being thrown around would be significantly better.

Luckily there's not a chance in hell Stricklin can even suggest that unless he's ready to admit defeat and give us his resignation. After taking a public dump over the Kelly fiasco he has to hire someone and hope for the best. If he tried to sell Shannon to the restless fans and boosters he would literally be run out of town.

I just don't get all the angst. I really don't. Its not even Saturday yet of the final week of the season and people are giving up hope because we haven't announced a coach yet. There are only one or two candidates that we have even been able to interview yet, much less draw up and contract, sign it, and have a presser about it. Damn folks.....
Because the writing on the wall is in large bold print?

Maybe Stricklin really did have everything under control the whole time and will sign Frost, but I can't say I'm very hopeful for that. I would say Charlie Strong is probably the favorite at this point, and I don't see us ever challenging the West with that hire. He would be our Richt and would be a lot harder to fire than Chump or Macelstain.

Had a nice chat with a former UF HC(non-football), said the best thing to happen to UF athletics is Foley retiring. Went on and on over Foley’s screwup hires. And truly believes Foley’s biggest problem is not hiring former UF athletes to coach. Named several immediately that were not even looked at, even when former athletes in that sport would give ringing endorsements. Nothing new to GatorChatter for sure, just the cherry endorsement of what the majority believes in Foley’s fups.

I get what Law is saying. He's saying if we lose out on Frost, the dropoff from there is so big it's maybe not in our best interest to commit. In other words, remain fluid and flexible until the absolute right guy comes along.

The odds of UF actually doing that are slim and none but the risk of hiring the wrong guy just got a lot higher with Kelly spurning us.

IF we end up hiring our 3rd or 4th choice, I will be pissed and will likely talk bad about our AD and others. Until they announce a coach, I think I will hold my judgement.....

It is too risky of a hire in my opinion though, he needs a couple more years at Oregon to prove himself.
He isnt going tonlast a couple of years. They had buyer's for this silly hire almost inmediately.

Dude had exactly one eight win or better season in eight years as a head coach. He recruited one great QB, that is his resume.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Have been told this AM #MissState is set to step up and go all in to keep Dan Mullen at MSU, making an even bigger commitment to him and to his staff.

Of course they will and he is happy there, why would anybody think he is going to leave especially for a job and place that his wife does not like.

How about getting real, no job is just about money, none!!! If it was Trump would still be developing real estate instead of making way less and taking more disrespect as president.
