Well. They all wanted to be here. But he wanted to be HERE. They would have taken Bammer, or Barn, or Ugly, or Tinerc, or Penn State or Miami, so would Mullinz had it been offered, but Mullins WANTED to be HERE. And he has a sense of urgency that the past to chuckleheads didnt. They thought it would happen so long as they worked some and relied on us "being Florida" especially in recruiting.

I’m sure ‘Champ wanted UF badly, too. So badly he left Texas where he was “in waiting”. His transition class looked promising with 2 4* QB’s, a 4* RB and 2 4* WRs. Many of us saw Ja’Juan Story as the big “get” for that transition class. He hired a ‘name’ OC. He started out all fired up & “I’ll fix this” - but he was in over his head, which manifested in his temper & bunker mentality. The gears didn’t mesh and the whole thing ground to a stop.

The difference here is that Mullen: 1. Has extensive HC experience in the conference 2. Has extensive experience at UF. 3. Has recruiting relationships in the state and region. We’ll be fundamentally better all around and likely a solid top 10-15 that doesn’t look outclassed. I’d be surprised if not. The real question for me is whether or not he’ll get us all the way back to being a top 5 program.
