Meyer's answer to the media are those of a man that knows he is guilty and has dodged a bullet.

If he did nothing wrong then why is he suspended?
their logic is he wasn't arrested or charged with a crime, so Meyer didn't report it up the chain as then he could sue the institution for wrongful termination if his spouse made it up. So because it wasn't made up and he didn't report it up the chain correctly, they suspended him.

And he didn't deliberately lie. I hope the place burns to the ground and he's inside. He's pure scum.

It is really amazing how UnAmerican and sexists this area of American life has gotten.
Personally:
1. I am American enough to believe in innocent until proven guilty and not believe in punishing someone who has never even been charged with a crime.
2. I am not sexists enough to treat women as less than full formed human beings who can decide when to leave an abusive situation if they feel abused.
You unAmerican sexists of course want to buy the PC line that Smith should have been deprived of his right to make a living due to unsubstantiated rumors and treat his former wife like she was a child and was not responsible for taking care of herself and leaving if she was being abused.
YOU DON'T KNOW ME!!!

Whats funny is hes really only missing the opener and losing like 500k. Hes allowed to run all practices next week so this really isn't a suspension.

My question is, where were all the men in this lady's life? She doesn't have any brothers or a father? If some piece of sH*t did this to my sisters or my daughter I'd pound his head into the cement. What the heck is happening to our country where women don't get protected by their families, or even friends, when something like this is happening? She apparently told the entire clan of staff wives. Not one of these so called "men" married to them stepped up to stop it? Pathetic.

Many times the family gives up because the woman refuses to follow through on these cases legally and keeps running back to the guy.

I think the same thoughts every time I hear about an abused woman whose family knew about it. I remember Nicole Brown Simpson's father saying that he knew his daughter was being abused by OJ but he just sat by with his thumb up his ass because OJ got him a job. OJ would not be walking around alive if something like that happened to my daughter. I don't know exactly how or when it would happen but it most certainly would happen.

You dont believe an employer can punish you unless you are convicted of a crime?

Boss, Ive been late to work every day this year and I take Monday and Fri off too, but cant fire me. No jury has convicted of a crime.

Boss, I have 14 accidents in company cars but you cant fire me bc I have gotten a reckless driving conviction yet.

Boss, I scream and yell at ever person in the office but the police havent arrested me for assault yet so you cant fire me.

You really believe that?

You really believe that is the law?

Would you believe it if it was your wife or daughter getting abused by someone and the police let him go because his dad is one of the most famous football figures in the state?

Or perhaps the women in her life:

1. Not surprisingly her former mother-in-law does is not on her side:

2. More surprisingly from the same post is this claim her mother is not on her side:

Courtney Smith, 33, is estranged from her mother, Tina Carano, because of her allegations that Zach Smith physically abused her. “Tina believes Zach and she is on his side through all this. She knows what her own daughter is like. She thinks she has serious problems and she knows she planned this whole thing.”

Of course I believe a firm can fire you for lots of reason. I did not address my post to Ohio State, but rather implicitly to the mob that wants to act like the mobs of the French Revolution and turn on whomever is not in favor that day.

Ohio State is merely reacting to the mob. I was pointing out to the mob how they are Un-American, sexist and as typical of a mob how illiberal they are being.

Heck I probably like Meyer less than anyone around here. I did not like his hiring. His hiring basically ruined UF football for me and in my view he ruined UF football. I have zero warm feelings about his tenure at UF.

Still I can see the mob when it gets started. Sure I would not mind bad things happening to Meyer, but not so much that I lose the long view and see how much harm the mob usually does.

What's completely fuked up are the enablers in Smith's life. If I were cheated on, beaten and then had these events covered up at the highest level, you better believe I'd plot to take them down. I don't care if Courtney is bat schit crazy, this is no excuse to cheat on or abuse someone. Sick bastards
