Thanks for posting JBoss. It shows...most (not some) of each players stats improved. All 3 are clearly improved over last year. They mentioned last night Locke is shooting 48% from the 3 in SEC play. That is outstanding. He’s a spot up shooter and that’s all he will ever really be though.
You’re not going to see any of these 3 average 20+ ppg. You still have Kerry, Scottie, Tre, etc also getting shots.
The biggest jump for this team will take place when 3 things happen: (1)Scottie starts attacking the rim (he almost never drives or finishes at the rim). He struggles shooting off the bounce but is getting a lot more comfortable shooting the spot up 3. (2) Tre becomes the shooter we know he can be....but hasn’t been so far. (3) Payne gets more consistency and comfort on both ends of the court.
These 3 were nowhere near as developed in high school as I thought they were and it was immediately apparent. They have AAU style games which is to say the focus was on exposure rather than development. You can see all 3 improving now and gaining comfort and confidence but still have a ways to go. All 3 need to stay at least another year. Locke and KJ should stay also but I think Andrew is gone.
Last comment....I like Glover a lot more than most posters. The kid is cat quick and fearless. This was a big jump for him and he’s had to adjust. Too many careless turnovers but even as short as he is he attacks the rim more than Lewis and Mann combined. I see a lot of Chiozza in this kid and he will be a 4 year player like Chris. He’s going to be a contributor here and while he has struggled at times this has been a valuable learning experience for him.
