Dafuq?

I like your five but more like

Forsythe
White
Heggie *** until hurt
Reese
Gouraige

Last two could be interchanged. Really all those guys would be better at guard than tackle. But especially with no spring practice there's not going to be a lot of moving around.

Center.... who knows really.

I’d love Reese at guard. But do we trust any of our players at center?

I don't know that anyone has played center other than Heggie a little.

3 weeks is just not a lot of time to transition to center learn all the calls and reads.

it could will be Eguakan just because he's had some snaps. I might even bet on that I mean Heggie has missed probably two-thirds of his games.

What the coaches likely want?

LT - Gouraige
LG - White
C - Heggie and whoever the backup is.
RG - Reese
RT - Forsythe

Gouraige - He will be at LT or LG. Under Mullen, that is where he has been working out the majority of the time. They want him at LT and tried last spring. It did not go well. He was serviceable at LG last season. I expect him to start at one of the positions. If he can't earn the starting LT spot, things get dicey.

If Gouraige ends up at LG?

LT - Forsythe
LG - Gouraige
C - Heggie and whoever the backup is.
RG - White
RT - Reese

Josh Braun could make things interesting. Maybe he takes a guard spot? Just for fun,

LT - Gouraige
LG - Braun
C - Heggie and whoever the backup is.
RG - White
RT - Reese

The truth is Forsythe is a nice backup but isn't an SEC caliber tackle. The staff themselves admit he shouldn't be at LT. If he somehow ends up on the bench to start the season, it means we have taken a step forward. Due to the wutang flu i don't expect this from a freshman. It is fun to hope though.

Elite programs are able to bring in lineman who will contribute as freshman. I hope Braun fits that mold.

Stone Forsythe’s name is fitting. Because his feet are like stone. He can play G. But if he’s at T we’re in trouble.

Correction: Elite programs bring in freshman who can contribute as freshman, but elite programs have too much depth to need them to. I’d love to see us be there again some day.....sigh......

Elite players play regardless. Freshman OL always play at Bama.

who man? like a few guys in history. out of the five they take every year.

Moroever, no one's going to mistake the leftovers we scrape off the barrel as being Bammer type recruits anyway. if we're taking them, they are either flawed or projects.

I don’t remember it that way, but confess to not paying close attention to them. I do know it’s not common on the OL at Clemson or Ugly. I’ll watch for it this fall and let you know!

I wouldn’t say it’s common. I would say that because they are getting their fair share of elite OL, that there are players they recruit to plug in . They don’t typically have OL weakness because the young kids they recruit can play.

So at Bama (recently)

2016 5* Jonah Williams
2017 5* Alex Leatherwood
2019 5* Evan Neal and 4*Darrian Dalcourt stand out.

JC Latham (2021) will probably carry on that momentum.

a couple things of change that dynamic. first is so many kids coming for spring practice as early enrollees and second is so many kids leaving after only 3 years.

if you're that good and leaving after only 3 years then maybe the staff does not mind not redshirting them and wasting a year.

freshmen are still freshman though. I did watch leatherwood a bit and he got his fair share of ass chewings as a freshman.

because of the lack of spring training I doubt we see any early enrollees on the field this year unless the team is just in terrible shape.
