go back and read the post. He argued those who don't wear masks or gripe about being told to are why this generation is soft and would get it's ass kicked in a war. I don't give a sht if someone does or does not wear a mask. But as far as the comparison goes it's total bullsht. The reason this gen is soft is exactly bc they are a bunch of beta pvssies who do every little thing big sis tells them or even implies would be nice to do. We got a society scared of its own shadow. Go live in a plastic bubble if you think it'll help someone. I don't give a sht. I totally get your point and don't think it's an invalid one. I just wanted to check to see if you understand that not everybody who wears a mask is doing it because somebody told them to. Some people do it because they feel that it's the right thing to do to help because they look at the science and data and decide they think they should.
Certainly a lot of hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle. A lot of the people screaming for personal freedoms are the same ones who are quick to say you can't do drugs for example. A lot of the people screaming "bigotry!" will be the first to automatically assume something based off of race/gender/political affiliation. Unfortunately, humans are generally very bad at looking for flaws in their logic and admitting that they're being hypocritical. I know I have been guilty of it plenty of times.
I can see that you take more of a libertarian view. Sorry to hear that you are being targeted. That's not a fun feeling. Take care.

Ya not the best comparison although I think the seatbelt comparison is semi-valid because a lot of people were mad about that for the same reasons. I think the best comparison might be legalization of drugs.

all good my man. And again, we both know that ppl make the choice based on lots of reasons. But let's be honest, if the media wasn't telling everyone to wear a mask, there would be very, very few ppl doing so. Nothing wrong with doing so for that or any other reason, but the majority havent looked at any actual data. The data is far from indicating masks are making a statistically significant improvement. And those that are doing it because they are told to seem to be quick to judge those who don't. That grinds my gears bc it shows a willingness to blindly accept what a bias entity tells you and judge those who may actually use some logic and research to come to a diff conclusion.

I agree what you say about the media. Of course... I'm glad they are telling people to cause I think it's the right thing to do at this point ; ). But ya data is incomplete as well. Recent studies do seem to show at least mild effectiveness, but I won't be surprised to see them debunked in a year.
I am just doing whatever I can to help and putting on a mask isn't a problem for me (except there's no way I'm gonna be doing that longer than a few minutes in 90 degree heat). So whether it ends up being fake news or not I don't think it will have impacted my life too much either way. I understand the gripe.

Although these examples are closer to your point, the major difference is that the government never vasillated back and forth on their position as they have on masks and practically every other aspect of this virus.
I can’t speak for others but my primary issue with all of this is not the actual wearing of a mask, it’s the complete lack of credibility the so-called experts have at this point.
If you aren’t sure you should refrain from providing guidance as opposed to blurting out the daily direction with little to no facts to support your statement.

Fauchi at the very beginning said people should not be walking around with masks on...that it was unnecessary unless you’re ill. Then what changed? Nothing...but now we’re supposed to all live in fear and wear masks? **** that...it’s bull****. Stop relying on government to tell you what to do

Except you should know that is also science that people will touch their face about 50 times an hour wearing a facemask.
Nurses get trained on it, and still need others spotting them when they do it.
They also have handwashing stations in every room and a nearly endless supply of masks.
The SCIENCE is that 80% of the people are wearing masks that don't DO anything. another 5 or 10% are wearing masks with exhalation port which lets unfiltered air out... making all your fccktarded liberal memes about peeing without underwear laughable.
Probably half the people I see wearing a mask in a way that does anything: their noses out, the bottom is off their chin, it doesn't seal, whatever.

The govt also said there was little risk to hundreds gathering together protesting, but if you go to a drive in church service and listen via your stereo with the windows rolled up, you're engaging in risky and irresponsible behavior. Is there anyone that can seriously, with a straight face, say that they are wearing a mask bc the govt told them to and they trust what the govt says?
